“Peace comes from within.
Do not seek it without”
{Gautama Buddha}

Message of the Day:

Today, we offer a special guided meditation to create a wave of peace that will expand and gently ripple into the world. As you connect with your true self, peace radiates from you as naturally as light from the sun, adding to the harmony of the world.  Let your peace be peace for our entire planet. See every heart and every face turned to the warm sunshine of the true source of peace, love and light. As we hold this intention, all humanity begins to participate in a universal symphony united in peace.

CENTERING THOUGHT
My peace is the peace of the world.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Shanti

I feel my Being as the Being of all creation.

 Day22 Expressing Global Peace

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome back for one more very special meditation, our thank you and gift to you – our seekers around the world.  In this journey together, we’ve unleashed our flow of radiant and peaceful energy and together, we’ve created a harmonious flow of peace, abundance and all that is good.  We are the peace we want to see in our world.  So let’s join our hearts and spirits together and breathe as Deepak guides us in a meditation today for global peace.  Namaste

Deepak Chopra:

You may have heard there is no way to peace, peace is the way.  Yet, the deepest reason for saying that peace is the way comes down to our true self.  Once you connect with your true self, there is no struggle to be at peace – you just are.  Your thoughts, words and deeds add to the peace in the world because they come from a Being that is completely at peace.  As the Buddha reminds us, peace comes from within.  Do not seek it without.

You may have wondered as we’ve journeyed together over the past three weeks, why there isn’t an energy center for harmony and balance.  The reason is that these things aren’t separate from the whole.  True peace belongs to your whole Being.  The mind-body system keeps itself naturally in balance, harmonizing the functions of trillions of cells.  Since a cell typically stores only enough oxygen and nutrients to last 3 seconds, the harmony of the whole is a matter of trust that makes the difference between life and death.

To be a unit of peace consciousness, you only need to do what your body is doing.  Your body maintains a state of dynamic balance which means it can participate in thousands of activities while remaining in harmony.  This state, known as homeostasis, gets disrupted by its opposite, the state of inflammation.  Current medical thinking is linking inflammation to almost every disease condition from heart attacks to cancer.  The lesson we can draw is simple.  If you want to be at peace, don’t become inflamed.  All the states of violence, unrest, crime and war in the world are states of inflamed feelings where harmony has become disrupted.

The ingredients that create inflammation are not mysterious.  Whether you are speaking of a heart cell, a person or a society, inflammation occurs under stress.  It occurs when communication breaks down, when natural healing is blocked and when the flow of life becomes stuck.  Yet, the most important lesson to gain from your body is that being in balance allows all of the working parts to be healthy effortlessly, and without conflict.  Aim for peace as a holistic state and every small conflict, every reason to be angry, untrusting, and restless and inflamed will take care of itself.  Repeat these intentional words as today’s centering thought,
My peace is the peace of the world.

Please begin by taking a comfortable seat and closing your eyes.  Bring your attention to your heart center as you allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed and at peace.  Now, gently introduce the syllable Shanti.  This is the mantra associated with peace.  Shanti.  Repeat it silently to yourself.  Shanti.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra.  Shanti.  Continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Shanti.  Shanti.  Shanti.  Just mentally.  Shanti.  Shanti.  Shanti.  Release the mantra and bring your awareness back into your body.  Take a moment to pay attention to the breath.  When you feel ready, open your eyes.  As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought,
My peace is the peace of the world.

To keep the Shakti of peace in motion today, take some time to let your thoughts, words and deeds be for peace.  Look for the small gesture that includes others, appreciates them and makes them feel understood.  Think in terms of harmony rather than division.   Act in such a way that you don’t bring stress into a situation, but help reduce it.  If you feel uncomfortable speaking up when someone is adding to the overall stress and discord, simply walk away.  Sit quietly and within yourself say, ‘my role is to be at peace’.  No matter how you live from day to day, your greatest contribution to a peaceful world is your own Being which is at peace.  This is the key to harmonizing body mind and spirit.  Obey the wisdom of your body and you will be obeying the wisdom of the universe.

Namaste

NEW YEAR NEW PHILOSOPHY
We must go beyond self-interest and embrace the idea of mutual interest.

We are all related. We are all connected. We are made of each other. The whole of existence is made of the same seven elements: earth, air, fire, water, space, time and consciousness. All these elements exist because of each other. No one element can exist by itself. There is a fundamental unity of life, which manifests in millions of forms. The unity and diversity are in an eternal dance. Quantum physics tells us that ultimately all is just one single energy: call it particles and waves!

Diversity does not mean division. Separation, fragmentation and dualism are mere perceptions fostered by external appearances. Dark appears to be opposite of light. Left appears to be opposite of right. Mind appears to be opposite of matter. But from a holistic perspective dark and light, left and right, mind and matter (and all the other apparent opposites) depend on each other and are complementary. The Chinese call it the harmony between yin and yang. There is yin within yang and yang within yin.

If we look at the world and see it as a whole we can heal all our political, religious, racial and environmental divisions with a single stroke. We can heal the division between science, spirituality and art; the division between head, heart and hands.

Plato proposed the idea of unity through the trinity of Truth, Goodness and Beauty. This three-dimensional philosophy represents a holistic worldview. Through science we seek truth, through spirituality we seek goodness, and through art we seek beauty. Then how can we put science, spirituality and the arts in three different departments or compartments?

Similarly with our heads we think and know the truth – that is science. With our hearts we cultivate and live goodness – that is spirituality. And with our hands we create and communicate beauty – that is art.

Thus science, spirituality and art are a continuum; there is no disconnection or division. Our body is a perfect example of this unity. We are made of all seven elements in perfect harmony. We can think. We feel. We make. We are whole. This sense of wholeness, completeness and relatedness is the first step towards sustainability.

The split between mind and matter started with the French philosopher René Descartes. He proclaimed the superiority of thought through his famous dictum, “I think therefore I am”. This Cartesian dualism became the foundation of Western philosophy and science. Gradually all our schools, universities and other educational institutions began to split knowledge into isolated subjects. Economy was taught without any reference to ecology; politics, without poetry; science, without spirituality; and every other subject was put in its own specialist department.

That tradition continues unabated. The study of parts is pursued without the presence of the whole. Students study the text without its context, psychology without anthropology; history without mystery; astronomy without arts. This partial education permeates into politics, business, medicine, agriculture and all other aspects of life. We divide the world into nations, religions, political and economic systems and above all make a division between humans and the rest of Nature. No wonder that we face multiple crises of environmental, economic, geopolitical and spiritual disharmony.

So we have to say goodbye to monsieur Descartes and see the world as an interdependent whole. We have to go beyond the idea of self-interest and embrace the idea of mutual interest, reciprocity and interdependence.

And this can be the philosophy of unity with which we start a New Year.

Don’t you know yet
It is your light that lights the world.”

{Rumi}

Message of the Day:

Congratulations on completing this 21-Day journey with us! We are honored that you joined us on this path toward finding your own perfect flow. Our hope is that through activating the core aspects of your true self you have ignited an awakening, filling you with the joy and gift of feeling truly alive.  Today’s lesson is about sharing our expanded consciousness with the world. Our seventh chakra is our divine light. It is where we take in that universal light of consciousness, and it is also where we radiate that same light to all creation. Our meditation will help spread the light of our inner awakening to every being in the universe, gently calling them to awaken as well.  Thank you for traveling this special road with us. May you continue on the path of sharing your light with the world.

 CENTERING THOUGHT
I radiate light.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Satyam
I express my pure awareness into the world.

 Day21 Expressing Consciousness

Oprah Winfrey:

Here we are already.  Hard to believe it’s day 21.  Three weeks went by quickly, didn’t it?  Today we’re expressing consciousness.  Wow!  Deepak and I are so grateful for the energy and heart you’ve brought to this journey of finding, awakening and expressing your flow.  In these last 21 days we’ve learned that as we open, awaken, activate and radiate energy from all of our energy sources of calm, of happiness, of power, love, truth, wisdom – the natural flow of that energy radiates beyond us and builds truth, positivity and healing in the world.  Today, we’re taking the final step in this experience of flow, knowing that we are both the source and recipient of the gifts of the universe.  We embody and share our light, the light of fulfillment, of trust of all creation.  So let’s join Deepak and let our light shine together in an ever evolving flow of energy.  Today we complete one cycle, and we begin again.

Deepak Chopra:

We are so honored that you chose to take this journey with us.  Our time together has been very special. Today, we step into living our vision as we align with the light that is focused on the seventh, or crown chakra, the culmination of spiritual awakening.  Today’s spiritual secret encourages you to be the source of light in your life.  Light has many spiritual meanings.  There is the light of the soul, the light of God, the light of pure awareness.

Science tells us that everything that composes our planet, including every atom in our bodies, began as star dust from the explosion of supernovas billions of years ago.  Quite literally, you are a child of light from these stars and right now on earth, all life depends on sunlight.

The most important lesson for us to learn is that spiritual awakening is natural.  The process is similar to waking up in the morning and opening your eyes to the light, only here, we have been opening our inner sight to the light of consciousness.  The seventh chakra is visualized as an opening through which inner light is both received and sent to and from the highest levels of creation.  Yet, your light is intimate to you, expressing your personal vision.  Visions come true by merging inner and outer life.  We all have wishes, hopes and dreams to fulfil.  For spirituality to be valid, it must be useful in bringing fulfilment.  Otherwise, beautiful truths lie dormant and asleep.  They are meant to be activated.

Through the seven chakras we focused on seven levels of fulfillment.  Today’s meditation is on the highest state of fulfillment which arrives when you are fully connected to the light of “being” which is the light of the self.  The Chandogya Upanishad  speaks of it this way, there is a light that shines beyond all things on earth, beyond us all, beyond the highest heavens. This is the light that shines within us.

As we prepare for meditation, let’s take a moment to focus on today’s centering thought,
I radiate light.

Please be seated comfortably, relaxing your hands and your body.  Breathe effortlessly and easily and release whatever tension you feel.  Begin to repeat today’s mantra, Om Satyam.  This is the mantra associated with the seventh chakra.  Om Satyam.  Repeat it silently to yourself.  Om Satyam.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noise or physical sensations, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra.  Om Satyam.  Continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Om Satyam.  Om Satyam.  Just mentally.  Om Satyam.  Om Satyam.   Release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, you can open your eyes.  As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought,
I radiate light

To keep the flow of the special Shakti in motion today, you can offer yourself a simple reminder of the light you share with others.  Smile with your heart and let your true self shine through your eyes.  A few words offered with kindness is another way to let your light radiate.  So is going inward when you feel really good and saying silently, I am enough.  Living as the source of light is profound and simple at the same time.  Radiate the light of your own being.  Nothing more is asked of you.  The spiritual journey facilitates the process.  Your true self is closer than your breath.  It takes a journey to find your true self because of past conditioning, a belief in separation and other obstacles that cloud our inner vision.  All of those things can be overcome and most powerful way forward is through meditation because it allows you to find your inner vision and use it in daily life.

I join Oprah in acknowledging your dedication.  We are travelers with you on the path, wherever it leads.

Namaste.

Journal Questions

1. “Spiritual fulfillment is the byproduct of a life where you have found your flow. It finds its expression in the little everyday joys of life, and the love shared with those we care about. Write down five everyday activities in your life right now that show simplicity and fluidity. These are the areas where your spiritual enlightenment is becoming accessible and real.”

2.  “List 2 or 3 ways in which that feeling of being in the flow has given you a glimpse of enlightenment or fulfillment in life.”

3.  “Write about the most meaningful experiences you’ve had these 3 weeks. What did you learn about yourself that you hadn’t known or experienced before?”

“Truth is by nature self-evident.
As soon as you remove the cobwebs of
ignorance that surround it, it shines clear.”

{Mahatma Gandhi}

Message of the Day:

In our meditation today, we continue to connect with the energy of the sixth chakra, deepening our alignment with our inner wisdom. As we express our inner wisdom, we expand its flow—transforming ourselves and every life we touch with effortless ease.  To share our wisdom and truth with others, we don’t need a large audience or a scholarly mind. We only need wisdom and truth alive in our consciousness along with a willingness to be of service to others in need. In nourishing a connection to your essential self, your wisdom will naturally flow from you like water flowing down a hill. True wisdom is seeing what needs to be done and then acting on your inner knowing.  The guidance we receive from our sixth chakra contains within it the impetus for action—the action then proceeds toward its fulfillment. Today’s meditation will help us connect to this purposeful and practical energy of knowledge—true living wisdom.

 CENTERING THOUGHT
I radiate truth.

 SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Tapaha
I express my truth into the world.

 Day20 Expressing Wisdom

Oprah Winfrey:

Hello.  Its day 20 and I want to share one of my greatest blessing with you.  I feel so blessed to have an unshakable connection to the power that is greater than me.  I call it my sunrise faith because no matter what, as long as we’re on this planet, the sun always rises.  That is a truth we can count on – regardless of how many shifts, twists and turns we experience in our lives.  The sun will rise tomorrow.  The true nature of the universe is just like the sunrise – it is always there….it is always true, with a capital T.  We, too, are each, in our truest selves, a part of the greater capital “T” truth.  What I know for sure is the more closely we connect to the source, capital “S”, of every truth, the more wondrous and full our life experience will be.  What is our true self?  We feel it when we’re lost in moments of doing something we love, or connecting with someone we love, or in those “Aha  moments of light and insight.  We feel it in the essence of connection.  We feel it in the quiet, steady power of the sunrise.  Today, Deepak guides us to reconnect and express the energy in our wisdom chakra, the energy center that knows essentially who we are.  As we open up and share our truest wisdom, our intuitive selves, we invite others to open up too, and honor the truth that belongs to us all.  Open up to that, My Friends, and then we’re going to meditate and share our energy around the globe.

Deepak Chopra:

I was raised in India with a saying that became the nation’s motto, ‘Satyameva Jayate’.  The truth alone is victorious.  This is a higher conception of truth from the ones we usually identify with.  Its roots go back to the ancient Vedic civilization.  All of us know that truth often does not prove victorious as much as we wish it would – deception, delusion, falsehood and every form of untruth seems to have a good chance to win out.   Yet, another kind of truth is not caught up in the struggle between what is true today or false tomorrow.  Values change, beliefs shift.  Despite this every-changing scene, the Vedic seers believed in the true self.  Like the sun hidden by clouds, to behold the light of truth is inevitable.  The day always comes when the sun shines and shows its true nature.

In a real sense, the spiritual journey is that simple, removing the clouds so that your true self can shine, as we’ve been doing now for 20 days.  Most people think that truth is relative and that truth with a capital “T” is a delusion or the symptom of a closed mind.  Satyameva Jayate isn’t depriving anyone of the relative truth they believe in, or any version of absolute truth either.  Both are borne in the mind.  They are ideas we cling to.  Your true self is beyond ideas.  It’s not a conception someone dreamed up for religious or psychological reasons.  Instead, the true self is the product of thousands of years of inner experience in every culture.  We glimpse it ourselves in moments of joy, love, inspiration and insight. Your self shines it’s essence with every other self.

The poet, Rumi, celebrates this when he says, ‘There is a community of the spirit – join it and feel the delight of walking in the noisy street and being the noise.  Close both eyes to see with the other eye”.  You can call it the eye of the soul or the third eye.  Terms don’t matter compared with the experience of deeply knowing who you are and the truth of your being. In the unity of spirit we embody one truth which is ours as we live it, but everyone’s at the same time.  When we say Namaste, we honor the truth in another.  More important though, is to respect everyone’s essence which lies beyond the surface of appearances.  Be your own inspiration.  There is no better way to inspire everyone around you.

As we prepare for meditation, let’s take a moment to focus on today’s centering though,
I radiate truth.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Begin to be aware of your breath and just breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Now gently introduce the syllables Om Tapaha.  This is the mantra associated with the sixth chakra.  Om Tapaha.  Om Tapaha.  Just silently.  Om Tapaha.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra.  Om Tapaha.  Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes.  Om Tapaha.  Om Tapaha.  Just mentally.  Om Tapaha.  Om Tapaha.   Release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, you can open your eyes.  As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought,
I radiate truth.

To keep the transformational flow of wisdom flowing today, you can offer yourself a simple reminder of the truth you share with others.  When you greet someone, friend or stranger, silently say Namaste or you can use the English translation, the divinity in me bows to the divinity in you.  Beyond mere words, feel the connection you are making.  Know that you are doing something universal.  You are doing unto others what you would have them do unto you.

Namaste.

Journal Questions

1. “Was there ever a time, perhaps when you were a child, when you allowed your imagination to explore the infinite possibilities and unlimited dimensions of your being? Describe your state of mind. Maybe you wondered what it would be like to fly through the Milky Way or to know why fish breathe underwater and we don’t. Describe yourself with that unfettered imagination. What would it be like to access that unconditioned spirit of inquiry in your life now?”

2.  “The feeling that anything is possible comes from a deep truth about your being. Allow yourself to relive the innocent freedom of that wonder-filled experience. Write down three areas of your life that feel stuck because you feel trapped by the limitations of past ways of thinking.”

3.  “Put yourself back in that state of mind as an innocent, curious child. From that perspective of infinite possibilities, write responses to those areas you feel stuck in now.”

“You are so busy being YOU that you have
no idea how utterly unprecedented you are.”

{John Green}

Message of the Day:

The fifth chakra is how we give voice to the uniqueness of our existence. Today in meditation, we sustain the flow of authentic expression that we activated over the last weeks. It is through this current of energy that we are able to receive and celebrate the specialness of our role in the universe with ourselves and others. Why is our self-expression a gift to others? It is a gift in the same way that every voice in a choir is essential to the whole song.  Communicating your life and presence to the world is a gift, but it is also spiritually significant. No one else can be who you are. No one else can fulfill your role in life. Creation requires you to come forward to be and share your true self. When you do, you encourage everyone else to shine forth in their full glory as well.

CENTERING THOUGHT:
I radiate my unique expression

 Sanskrit Mantra:
Om Janaha
I express my uniqueness into the world

 Dayy19 Expressing You

Oprah Winfrey:

I want to share with you one of my favorite quotes from Marianne Williamson who points out that ‘We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?  Actually, says Marianne, who are you not to be?  She’s right when she says “You are a child of God.  You’re playing small does not serve the world.  There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.  We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It’s not just in some of us – it’s in everyone.  And, as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from or own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”.  End of quote.  Today, we return to the energy center of expression and we expand that energy into our world.  We honor the universe calling to each of us to listen, and to be heard, to give voice to our truths, our creativity and our unique purpose.  As we do this, we inspire communication, connection and vibrancy with everybody around us.  We light up and the world lights up with us.  Let’s go meditate!

Deepak Chopra:

Your being is the greatest gift you have to give.  “Being” is silent.  But when you express who you are, your being flows out into the world and then others can bask in your personal expression and feel inspired to find their own way of expressing themselves.

When we were kids, our parents said, do this and don’t do that.  This does not always have a lasting effect because what parents want us to do isn’t always what we want to do.  But other kinds of things parents say often stick for life – these are statements saying, you are X, you are not Y. One child is told, you are smart, lovable and wonderful while another is told, you are a problem, a source of worry, and not really good enough. The difference in how these two children grow up is often immense.  Decades later, most people have so many notions about who they are, that discovering who they really are comes as a shock.  The idea that their true self is wise, creative, loving and universal sounds unbelievable.  For this reason, we all need to hear that truth repeated over and over.  To be human is a state of infinite potential waiting to be awakened.

The chakra for communication and expression couldn’t be more important because no one else in the history of creation can be what you are.  The universe needs you to shine forth.  The free flow of self-expression is as natural as breathing and it happens whenever we don’t judge or restrict the flow of self in mind, body and spirit.  As we settle in to meditate, let’s take a moment to consider today’s centering thought,
I radiate my unique expression.

Please be seated comfortably, relaxing your hands and your body.  Breathe easily and effortlessly and release any tension you feel.  Begin to repeat today’s mantra, Om Janaha.  Om Janaha.  This is the mantra associated with the fifth chakra, Om Janaha.  Repeat it silently to yourself.  Om Janaha.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return you attention to silently repeating the mantra.  Om Janaha.  Continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Om Janaha.  Om Janaha.  Om Janaha.  Just mentally.  Om Janaha.  Om Janaha.  Release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, you can open your eyes.  As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought,
I radiate my unique expression.

To keep the flow of self-expression in motion today, take a few moments to encourage others to be themselves.  The process begins with you. Notice when you want to say something but a little voice inside says, ‘you’ll sound silly’ or, ‘no one really want to hear what you have to say’.  This is the voice of self-judgement.  Sometimes it doesn’t speak in words except for a little ‘no’ or ‘don’t’ that holds you back.  When this happens, take a breath, relax and see if the flow of expression comes more easily.  You aren’t alone.  Everyone has a self-critical voice inside and yet, everyone has the impulse to open up.  Knowing this, we can take a moment today and encourage someone else to speak or express themselves.  When you create any space that allows others to express who they really are, you are offering them a sacred gift.  As you give, you will receive.

Namaste.

Journal Questions

1. “Think back on a day when you felt completely alive, vibrant, and appreciative of everything around you. There was a spring in your step, a sparkle in your eyes, and a smile in your heart. Write down what you were feeling inside of you that couldn’t be hidden.”

2.  “This enthusiasm for living in the present is your natural state of balanced awareness. It creates a noticeable influence on those around you. Did any of your friends or family ask you why you were happy? Were people giving you quizzical looks?”

( , , )( , , )   ~The One Mountain Range
¯**´¯**´¯     with many Seasons and Slopes ~

There is only The One Mountain.
We all climb the same mountain.
We all strive to reach the same summit.
It is just that we each travel on a different slope of the same mountain range,
on the path to Self and to God.
No matter who or what we are,
Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu….
Optimist, pessimist, believer, athiest…
Male, female, black, white…
We are all on the same journey of self discovery.

The mountain has many ever-changing seasons, ever-changing slopes
and we each will encounter them all at some point
during our journey…
Some days some travel on the slope of green meadows.
For others it is a rocky slope.
Yet for others there is snow on the slope.
And some encounter a sandy slope.
The sun shines on one side on the slope.
While strong winds prevail on the other side of the slope.
And some encounter rain on the slope.
There will be daytime on the one side of the slope
and darkness on the other side.
Some have not even reached a slope and
many are still only at the foothill.

No matter the ups and down, the twists and turns
the slope we are on brings to us,
we have the choice to change our perception and learn from the journey.
Thus we can overcome all the conditions that each slope brings.
Yes, we will surely encounter all sides of the slope on our journey to the summit
and our perception is what will determine our reality of it and the feelings evoked.

So no matter who we are and what our beliefs, we are all One on the same journey
on the same mountain.
We get deceived that it is a different mountain we are each on,
but in fact from a distance, from above, it can be clearly seen that it is the same one mountain range with its different surrounding elements, different seasons and different slopes.

Let us therefore journey together and not apart.
Let us journey in peace, harmony and love.

“The whole idea of compassion is based on a
keen awareness of the interdependence
of all these living beings.”

{Thomas Merton}

Message of the Day:

The greatest gift we have to offer the world is our love. We deliver this offering when we make time each day to align with and express the infinite source of love within. Our meditation today allows the flow of love we have discovered and activated in our heart chakra to radiate out to everyone in the world. Unconditional love may seem beyond our reach, but it is the same compassion we feel when our heart goes out to someone on the evening news who is experiencing misfortune, or when we learn of a difficult challenge that a dear friend or loved one is facing. When that wave of compassion and love comes from the depth of our hearts, it is transformative and healing. Pure love does not care about differences; it only sees what unites us as one humanity. Today’s meditation will bring us into contact with this source of love and help it expand unconditionally to everyone in the world.”

CENTERING THOUGHT:
I radiate love from my true self

 Day18 Expressing Love

Oprah Winfrey:

It’s Day 18 and we’re talking about expressing love.  Love really is the most powerful force in the world.  When we express ourselves from a centered space of love, miracles not only can happen – they do.  In our meditations together, we’ve opened up to the power of love and hopefully activated the flow of love within and around us.  Today, we want to expand and express the energy of love.  Stop for a moment.  Feel the love you hold for your child, your parent, your sister, or soul mate.  What if the love you’re feeling right now could be the predominant energy that rules the world?  Well, it does. Your deep personal spark of love is the same magnificent love that powers the universe.  Imagine then, what happens when we, each of us listening right now, expand our energy from feeling love to being love.  That is what we’re going to begin to do today.  It is really big.  With Deepak’s guidance, we are going to expand our awareness and embrace our innate knowing that we come from and really are love.  And when we express the love, first for ourselves, and the universe of love that flows through us, we begin to transform and by so doing, transform the world in the most natural and wondrous of ways.  Let’s not wait another moment for that.  Listen to Deepak’s words on expanding your energy and expressing love and then we are going to meditate that love into being.

Deepak Chopra:

Today’s meditation is on the fulfillment of the heart chakra which elevates all hearts connected to it.  This is a higher conception of love than those we are brought up with.  Most people use the energy of love very sparingly, limiting their love to a small circle of family and friends.  The thought of universal love or God’s love seems very far away and super human.  Yet, the tiniest spark of love we feel comes to live within our true selves as an impulse of universal love.  As this love flows outward, we make a choice to localize our love and limit who receives it, or give it freely.

Until we activate the flow, many of us will limit how we express the energy of love.  This happens for many reasons.  It’s socially acceptable to love our families but not humanity.  Love belongs to us, not them – the people who seem foreign or dangerous or opposed to us.  At a more vulnerable level, we restrict love out of fear, timidity or because it is blocked by memories of love gone wrong.  All of this is part of the human experience but so is an expanded love that comes with expanded consciousness.  When your awareness expands, love flows naturally.  It doesn’t have a reason to be limited and penned in.  When your heart chakra opens, your love merges with all love.  In place of a love that makes selfish demands, there is compassion for everyone.  Love is the great connector, the force that can bring opposites together, and change differences to common goals.  As you awaken the depths of love in your heart chakra, you will naturally share the depth of love with others.

As we prepared for meditation, let’s take a moment to focus on today’s centering thought,
I radiate love from my true self.

Please be seated comfortably, relaxing your hands and your body.  Breathe effortlessly and easily and release any tension you feel.  Begin to repeat today’s mantra, Om Maha.  Om Maha.  This is the mantra associated with the fourth chakra, Om Maha.  Om Maha.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Om Maha.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra.  Om Maha.  Continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Om Maha.  Om Maha.  Just mentally.  Om Maha.  Om Maha.  Release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes.  As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought, I radiate love from my true self.  I radiate love from my true self.
I radiate love from my true self.

To keep the Shakti of love flowing in your life today, make a conscious connection with love, beginning in silence.  Anytime you feel a positive emotion, take a moment to say to yourself, this is love flowing from my true self.  You don’t have to express your love at that moment.  Maybe you are simply enjoying the warmth of the sun, or smiling at a baby in a stroller. What’s important is that any positive feeling can be traced to its source which is always love.  Just by connecting  love with other positive states, you are bringing love to the surface.  Not just as one of those intense moments when you might feel romantic love or sexual love, but as a sustaining energy all the time.  As this process continues, you will begin to identify more with love and in time, the real fulfillment arrives.  You can say, I am love, and know that it is true.  When that moment comes, a great transformation will have taken place.  Yet, there is joy in forming small movement along the way, knitting together the fabric of wholeness one stitch at a time.
