“Self-trust is the first secret to success.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Message of the Day:

Congratulations on completing another week of our Meditation Experience. This week we have been learning how to make every decision a success. A big part of making successful decisions is learning to trust your decisions. That means making choices and not worrying or second-guessing yourself, wondering afterwards if you made the right choice or if you should have waited. Information will always be inadequate and there will inevitably be uncertainties. But if you make your choices according to a broad vision that sees life unfolding according to a higher purpose, then you can trust your decisions knowing that this greater intelligence will organize and orchestrate all the details, even if your mind cannot fully fathom them. Today’s meditation will connect us to that infinite intelligence and help us develop an inner confidence that allows us to trust our decisions.

CENTERING THOUGHT
I trust that my life fits a larger plan.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Eem Hreem Kleem

I draw knowledge and truth to my core self.

Day14 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Here we are, completing our second full week of Manifesting True Success, our meditation experience.  I’m hoping you can feel a shift already, a kind of opening up as you start to embrace the wisdom of your journey to true success. Today is about one of the simplest yet most transformative forces in life, the power of trust.  Welcome to Day 14, “Trusting Your Decisions”.  Facing and making decisions often creates a sense of doubt, fear and uncertainty.  We all know that uneasy feeling when you’re searching for the right answer and you don’t know what that right answer is…I’ve been there hundreds of times.  This is why I truly believe – when you don’t know what to do, what decision to make, get still, stay open until you do. Uncertainty can be your friend.  When you let go and tap into the greater energy within you, you will find the answer and the light guiding and supporting you, always.  It’s the force that can dream a bigger dream for you than you could ever dream for yourself.  Everything is always working out for your greatest good.  It really is!  Trust in that knowing.  Deepak has much to share about this wisdom of trusting so let’s listen and then we’ll meditate.”

Deepak Chopra:

When you have true success every day, you can look back and trust that you made the right choices.  But decisions often feel like coming to a fork in the road and after you take one road, you wonder what the other would be like.  That is only natural.  But you don’t want to look at the road you are on with regret. When you don’t trust in your decision an imaginary ‘what-if’ hangs over your life.  What if I hadn’t turned down that job offer?  What if I’d met someone else?  These ‘what-ifs’ take your focus away from the present moment where your future is created.

To trust that your choices fit a larger plan, your options don’t have to be Choice A or Choice B.  Life is too uncertain to control or predict.  We don’t even know what our next thought will be, much less what will unfold in a year or 10 years.

How can we make this uncertainty our friend?  The answer lies in a greater visions, seeing that there is a higher purpose in life carried forward by a higher intelligence.  In reality, this intelligence lies within.  It governs, creates and controls the unfolding of your personal reality.  Your choice is to align with your higher intelligence and trust it even when you can’t see why some things are happening.

Trust doesn’t develop in a vacuum.  If there is a sudden crisis, disappointment or frustrating setback, you can tell yourself that everything happens for a reason.  But it’s much better to feel secure in this belief, to know from experience that setbacks and disappointments are meant to fit into your evolution.

The more you connect with your true self, the more the setback will fit one of the following categories

  • It is temporary and straightens itself out with minimal effort
  • It points you in a new direction asking you to examine what you are doing
  • It contains hidden negative emotions or beliefs that you need to work on
  • It prepares the way for a new opportunity that is getting ready to present itself

If you still cannot understand how the setback fits into a larger plan, have patience, return to your center and accept for the moment that life contains some uncertainties that cannot be explained.  In time, an explanation may come and meanwhile there is still the larger plan that is carrying you forward.  Your higher self is always guiding to grow your state of well-being even though there are bumps along the way.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering though,
I trust that my life fits a larger plan

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Eem Hreem Kleem.   This mantra strengthens self-confidence. As you repeat the mantra, feel an easy confidence that all your actions are guided by the infinite wisdom of your higher self. Repeat it silently to yourself, Eem Hreem Kleem. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, return yourself to repeating the mantra, Eem Hreem Kleem. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Eem Hreem Kleem. Just mentally Eem Hreem Kleem.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought. I trust that my life fits a larger plan

Journal Entries:

  • When we are in touch with our higher intelligence, we can make the uncertainties of life our friend. We feel this greater purpose that carries life forward, even though we cannot see or anticipate how all the details fit together. Write about an experience in your life where a great uncertainty was resolved when you released your need to control events, and in which you were able to relax into your higher self and embrace the uncertainty.
  • Uncertainties that present themselves as life crises or major setbacks to our goals can undermine our sense of trust. These events challenge us to go deeper within our Being, and eventually lead us to the understanding that even these disappointments and frustrations are serving our evolution. The growth that comes from living through these crises with awareness and openness create an even deeper trust, and become important components of our success. Describe an experience in your journal where going through a crisis led to a deeper feeling of trust within.
  • Describe other insights you gained going through this experience. Aside from developing a more profound level of trust, did you uncover unknown resources of inner wisdom and strength that made you a more complete and successful person?

“The time you enjoy wasting
is not wasted time.”
– Bertrand Russell

Message of the Day:

Our meditation today is about learning to become a master of your time. The last letter in S-M-A-R-T is T for “time limits.” Even though our true self is timeless, we live and experience in sequential time. For that reason we must respect and manage our time each day skilfully so that we synchronize our biorhythms with Nature. Dr. Daniel Siegel looked at how we can use our time so that it supports our wellbeing and inner growth. He list seven ways to spend time:

  • Sleep time – Getting a full night’s restful sleep
  • Physical time – Taking time to move and let your body be active
  • Focus time – Being alone for a while to concentrate on what matters to you
  • Time in – Taking time for meditation, prayer, or self-reflection
  • Time out – Setting aside time to simply to be here and rest into existence
  • Play time – Time to have fun and enjoy yourself
  • Connecting time – Intimate private time between you and those you love and care for

CENTERING THOUGHT
I allow the flow of time to carry me forward.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Kala Namah

I allow cosmic time to guide me.

Day13 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

We move toward success when we listen within and open our hearts and minds to their fullest expression.  Expanding the ways in which we spend our time is another milestone on the road to lasting soul-filling success. Time is our most precious jewel.  When you consciously choose to realize each moment to its fullest, your treasure chest overflows.  Give yourself the gift of time in all areas of your life. Restful time.  Connecting time.  Creative time.  Time to focus and time to play.  When you do, every day will become timeless.  And that, My Friends, is a whole new experience of success.  My Beloved Dr. Maya Angelou said, ‘All great achievements require time’.  It’s true.  Every moment we have here on earth is really sacred.  So, let’s get still and appreciate the treasure in this and every moment as Deepak leads the way.”

Deepak Chopra:

The last letter in SMART is “T” for “Time Limits”.  Set a time to act, and for results to come to you.  I’m not saying this as an efficiency expert.  You don’t want to become time’s slave – quite the opposite.

In a fully awakened state, every day feels timeless.  You are expanded and free without constraints.  It may seem like a paradox but the time to the timeless is through time.  This is because of how our brains process experience.  One event at a time in a straight light from morning to night.  In reality, your true self is timeless.  You are not bound by time.  But for everything, there is a time and a season under the sun.

All living things have a natural rhythm and when you find your rightful time, everything needed for success unfolds naturally.  In practical terms, I’m asking that you approach time as something you can master.  The best model I’ve ever seen for mastering time comes from the psychiatrist, Dr. Daniel Siegel at UCLA who looked for the best way to have a healthy brain that supports a person’s well-being.  The optimal use is to apportion your time so that each day you have seven different ways to spending your time.  They are:

  • Sleep time
  • Physical time
  • Focus time
  • Time in
  • Time out
  • Play time
  • Connecting time

This gives us a map for mastering time, making it work for you instead of against you.  When you begin your day, pay attention to all seven compartments because they nurture all aspects of inner growth.

  • Sleep time – did you get a full night restful sleep?
  • Physical time – Did you take time to move and let your body be active?
  • Focus time – Were you alone for a while to concentrate on what matters to you?
  • Time in – Did you set aside a few moments for meditation, prayer or self-reflection?
  • Time Out – What time during the day was set aside for simply resting or existence?
  • Play time – Did you give yourself time to have fun in a carefree mood?
  • Connecting Time – Was there intimate private time between those you love and care for?

These aren’t just compartments of a well-planned day.  They optimize different areas of the brain and thus lead directly to expanded awareness and a sense of fulfillment

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
I allow the flow of time to carry me forward

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Om Kala Namah.   This mantra harmonizes your life with the natural flow of time.  As you repeat the mantra, feel relaxed in the knowledge that you have all the time in the world.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Om Kala Namah. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to repeating the mantra, Om Kala Namah. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Om Kala Namah. Just mentally Om Kala Namah.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought. I allow the flow of time to carry me forward

  • Take one of your worthy goals and set a time frame for attaining a major step toward that goal. For example, with the goal of having more friends, you might give yourself a month to make three new acquaintances. Write down your goal, your next step, and the time frame to get there.
  • List all the different activities that apportion your time: work time, play time, quiet time, social time, down time, physical time, and sleep time. Next to each area, write down how much time you give yourself for that activity each day.
  • Write down next to each activity how that period of time nurtures you, and how it enriches the quality of your day rather than detracts from it.

“Success comes from taking the
initiative and following up or persisting.”
– Tony Robbins

Message of the Day:

Our next letter in the acronym S-M-A-R-T is R. It stands for “record your progress.” In the context of business or physical fitness training, recording progress is an obvious way to monitor your development. But what does recording your progress mean in the context of personal growth? It means that we notice and acknowledge the inner growth that is happening in our consciousness. By recognizing the ways in which we are being transformed, we firm up that transformation and establish that change as something real and useful to our forward progress. Without this kind of deliberate affirmation and confirmation, subtle yet profound spiritual experiences can be casually disregarded and forgotten. If they are recorded and registered in our mind, they can be like sprouting seeds that can continue to grow.

CENTERING THOUGHT
I can feel myself growing every day.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Shreem Namah

I let divine joy, abundance, and beauty into my life.

Day12 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome to Day 12.  Today we explore what success really feels like deep in our souls.  Listening to your life starts the process of creating success.  Aligning your internal and external realities, as we discovered yesterday, opens the door even wider.  Today we accelerate the momentum of success by tuning into, and embracing the messages we get from the source within.  We all experience those exquisite moments when we hear and really heed our inner voice.  It can be a whisper or a full-on aha.  When we truly trust that voice, it naturally guides us to a place where growth happens.  That growth is the spark that kindles the fire of success. Together let’s find the still space so that we can hear the inner voice with a sense of calmness and clarity. Then we’ll meditate.”

Deepak Chopra:

The next letter in the SMART acronym keeps you focused on fulfillment in the present – ”R” stands for “record your progress”.  In this short statement, record means you keep track of your journey and progress means that you expect to grow every day.  We all know that growth is dynamic.  It’s on the move.  This movement is automatically programmed into plants whose genes point them in the direction of the sun.  There is no need for self-awareness, the process is mechanical.  Inner growth is the opposite.  There is nothing mechanical about it.  Why not? Why didn’t our genes program us to become successful the way they are programmed for losing baby teeth and passing through puberty?  Because inner growth depends on feedback from the self.  You know that you’re evolving every day if you can state what message you receive from your true self.  When you note these messages down and reflect upon them, you are not just recording every day events.  You are recording a stronger connection with your creative source.  In practical terms, these are the kinds of messages that spur your inner growth.

  • You feel safe and out of danger.
  • You feel worthwhile knowing that your life has value.
  • You realize you are important in the scheme of things.
  • Your body is light and energized.
  • You are fulfilled just by being here.
  • You know that you are loved.
  • You feel empathy and compassion for others.
  • You experience a sudden epiphany inside or “AHA” moment.
  • You feel the presence of a higher power.
  • You see how everything is interconnected.
  • You are struck with wonder and awe without warning.
  • The majesty of nature fills you.

Everyone has such moments of higher consciousness but few take these individual experiences when the true self is so close, and knit them together.  Great epiphanies can blow away like leaves in the wind, pay attention and value them and make them part of who you are.  Since your creative source is always trying to contact you, take full advantage of the times when a connection is made.  The record of your inner growth is at the same time, a record of your success as it unfolds in the here and now.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
I can feel myself growing every day.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Om Shreem Namah.    This mantra brings the force of evolution and growth into all aspects of life.  As you repeat the mantra, feel the movement of life energy express itself through you.   Repeat it silently to yourself, Om Shreem Namah. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to repeating the mantra, Om Shreem Namah. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Om Shreem Namah. Just mentally Om Shreem Namah.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought I can feel myself growing every day

Journal Entries:

  • Our inner growth and pursuit of success require feedback from the self. Write down the different ways your body, emotions, and mind give you feedback. Being aware of this feedback is a way of recording your progress.
  • Take the list of feedback you wrote above and explain what messages your progress is showing you. For example, when your body feels light and energized, it shows that your body is moving closer to its goal of wellbeing.
  • Write down some of the feedback you are noticing from your body, mind, and emotions, and then make a general assessment of how well you are growing and progressing.

I think true success is intrinsic.
It’s love. It’s kindness. It’s community.”
— Tom Shadyac

Message of the Day:

In the S-M-A-R-T acronym, the letter A stands for “agreement with your inner self and those around you.” Agreement means harmony, mutual support, and even love. For there to be agreement between the inner world of our values, goals, and beliefs and the outer world full of contentious individuals with conflicting ideas, we must find a deeper level of commonality. That agreement is based on your personal connection to universality. Steve Jobs expressed this agreement perfectly: “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

CENTERING THOUGHT
My inner and outer worlds mesh perfectly.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Houm Namah

I open my awareness to divine grace.

Day11 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Yesterday we explored making choices based on what truly matters, considering every choice from a place of presence and full awareness.  Today we take the next step in manifesting true success by aligning our inner self with the reality that is around us.  Welcome to Day 11 of our meditation experience. When your emotional center is in harmony with the reality of what’s happening around you, the energy of success flourishes.  Embrace that alignment, go with it and you will thrive.  When what is showing up in your outer world with your inner Being, you feel it in the form of stress, of doubt, of negativity, energy is blocked.  When you find that kind of resistance, pay attention to it.  Pause and listen because that is how your life is speaking to you.  Take the time to go back to center, to re-orient, to re-set your course.  Realign how you’re feeling inside with what you want to materialize around you.  When inner and outer are in accord, you will have clarity, you will gain strength and become more powerful.  Inner harmony leads to outer harmony and that alignment leads to true success. Deepak illuminates this so well so settle in, get still and then we’ll meditate.”

Deepak Chopra:

The Italian philosopher, Machiavelli, a master of human nature said, ‘Whoever desires constant success must change his conduct with the times’.  But how do you know what the times are asking for?

The acronym SMART brings us to the letter “A” – agreement with your inner self and those around you. This is the match between inner and outer reality.  Every success involves being in the right place at the right time to fill a need.  Some of that can be planned objectively.  You start to build your store or your team project or your bright invention by taking practical steps.  Yet, at a deeper level, your inner self must agree with what is happening around you.

If you feel stressed, uncertain, tense and in conflict, your outer situation will be affected by these blockages. At the same time, if your outer situation is wrong for you, it will lead to tension, stress, uncertainty and conflict.  Making the two worlds mesh means that you have reached agreement.  I would say that this one ingredient means more to success than any other and as you expand our awareness in meditation, you will become finely attuned to the points where you mesh with reality and the points where you don’t.  Applying this principle to making choices, the following things are proven to work:

  • Do make decisions when you feel centered and calm
  • Don’t make decisions when you are in discomfort and distress
  • Never act when you are uncertain
  • Be patient and wait for the time when you are self-possessed and feel good about your decision-making.
  • If others around you show signs of discomfort, resistance and disagreement, heed this as a warning that you’re not in agreement with outer reality.
  • Live with choice on the inside for a day before announcing it to others.
  • Do show others that you need advice, counsel and help.
  • Don’t pretend to know everything or shut yourself off from other opinions.
  • Seek conciliation.
  • Value cooperation over pointless competitiveness.
  • Develop an atmosphere of sharing and mutual support.

In this way, “A” for agreement teaches you to trust inner harmony as the source of outer harmony.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
My inner and outer worlds mesh perfectly

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Om Houm Namah.   This mantra centers awareness in the still point between inner and outer life.  As you repeat the mantra, allow your awareness to find the balancing point of silence.    Repeat it silently to yourself, Om Houm Namah. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, return yourself to repeating the mantra, Om Houm Namah. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes, Om Houm Namah. Just mentally Om Houm Namah.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought, My inner and outer worlds mesh perfectly

Journal Entries:

  • Meshing your inner world with the outer world requires you to find your center where the two meet. Write down any past experiences in which you have felt the calm, centering awareness that comes from your inner and outer worlds being in agreement.
  • Take one of those experiences, in which you felt you were in the “zone” and everything flowed effortlessly. Describe that knowingness inside that you were doing precisely what was needed at exactly the right time. That is agreement of the inner and outer.
  • Think of another time where you acted while you were feeling upset, anxious, or ill. Write about the difference in the outcome of those actions, compared to the time when you felt centered and calm.

“Success is the progressive realization of predetermined,
worthwhile, personal goals.”
— Paul J. Meyer

Message of the Day:

Today’s meditation is about making all our choices smart choices, and is indicated by the letter M. The M stands for “make everything measureable.” If we get reliable, measurable feedback on our progress, we can make intelligent, informed decisions. By evaluating our work in measurable terms, we remain in control of our progress, our time, and our resources. We know where to cut back, and where to redirect our focus and energy. Most importantly, by making everything measurable, we can make smart decisions that are aligned with our values and worthwhile goals. Our meditation today helps us maintain the flexible awareness that allows us to remain aligned with our deep purpose, while we monitor the circumstances and details of life so that we can make informed decisions. It’s like a sailor setting course to a distant island, all the while monitoring the wind, waves, and currents along the way.

CENTERING THOUGHT
I control my life by knowing what counts.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Sharavana Namah

My awareness is unbounded and focused.

 Day10 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome to Day 10, Measuring What Matters.  Today we begin the practice of being fully present in every choice and really feeling what matters.  That awareness, that presence is the basis of real success. As master teacher, Eckhart Tolle says, ‘There are three words that convey the secret of the art of living, the secret of all success and happiness – One with Life’.  Being one with life is being one with the now.  Life is the dancer, he says, and you are the dance.  I just love that.  Be aware of who you are, of what’s right for YOU, of where life can take YOU, in every moment.  Treasure The Now.  Savor it.  Stay awake, and all your choices become steps on your path to true success. Let’s get ready to meditate.  Breathe consciously.  Get Still.  Stay open.  Connect to the now.  Your time is now.  Right now.  Always.

Deepak Chopra:

We are in the middle of discovering how the word SMART defines a specific approach to the choices we make.  After “S”, stretch more than you can reach, comes “M” which stands for ‘make everything measurable’.  Why is that important?  It sounds as if you need to measure in statistics or become a bookkeeper but making something measurable is really about being in control.  If your day runs out of control, so has your vision.

To be a success, you must see yourself as a success – everyday – and this requires knowing what the situation actually is.  You are in control when you know what’s coming in and out.  You are in control when you stick with reality and don’t get carried away by shifting moods, anxiety, worry and stress. These reasons apply to balancing your checkbook because when you know how much money you have at your disposal, you can spend the money on what is most important to you.

Let’s apply this principle to the decisions that lead to success.  What is the measure of success?  The following things apply :

* You measure out the time that it takes you to do what you want to do.
* You take stock of your physical and mental energy.
* You spend your time and energy according to a plan, not leaving everything wide open.
* You measure results on a regular basis.
* You trim away the things that aren’t producing results.
* You have inner measures that tell you when you are in a good or bad place and you trust these inner measures.

No one can do everything and even if they could, there is not enough time for it.  Sit with yourself, looking ahead to attaining your worthy goal.

* How well did you spend your time and energy on the goal today?
* When you spent time, was it productive and satisfying or not?
* How could you tell someone else about your progress in real terms?

Taking stock this way on a regular basis is one of the strongest traits of successful people.  They are ensuring that they don’t get lost in fantasies while time runs away.  Being a visionary requires a map to get to the goal and the map shifts every day but by measuring your progress, you stay in control of the unfolding process.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
I control my life by knowing what counts

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.

Gently introduce the mantra, Sharavana Namah.  This mantra gives your mind the ability to track details while not losing the vision of the whole.  As you repeat the mantra, notice your attention lightly assessing data in the context of the goal you’re moving toward.   Repeat it silently to yourself, Sharavana Namah. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to repeating the mantra Sharavana Namah. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes Sharavana Namah. Just mentally Sharavana Namah.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought.
I control my life by knowing what counts

Journal Entries:

  • Today’s meditation teaches us the value of stretching our ideas before making a decision. Write in your journal your ideas on what “stretching” means when it comes to making smart choices.
  • Practice mental stretching with a decision that you are currently working on. Perhaps it’s buying a car, in which case you could consider other cars or ownership options you may not have thought of before, and talk to people who may not be car experts, but who have a point of view that could be useful. Write down how opening up to new perspectives can help you make a smarter decision.
  • Reflect on how flexible thinking can keep your decision process fluid and not stuck behind an obstacle. Write down an experience you had where an apparent solution had hit a wall, but your mind didn’t stop and eventually came up with a creative way around the obstacle.”

“Pearls don’t lie on the seashore.
If you want one, you must dive for it.”
— Chinese proverb

Message of the Day:

Today’s meditation focuses on the first concept from the S-M-A-R-T acronym. The letter S is for “stretching more than you can reach.” This means not only being open to new ideas, approaches, and practices, but being willing to explore them and try them out. Stretching more than you can reach requires curiosity about the world and a desire to go beyond the limitations of your present knowledge and experience. This mental stretching prepares your mind for making smart choices in every circumstance that arises in your day, just as stretching before a workout prepares your muscles for whatever exercise you will be doing.

Day9 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome!  It’s Day 9 of our meditation experience.  Today we look at making choices with the wisdom that comes from within. Once you start making conscious choices, no matter how small, suddenly everything is possible.  One of my favorite Emily Dickenson quotes is ‘Dwell in possibility’ which means, to me, stretch your heart and your mind.  The choice for success begins with aligning your thoughts and actions to go beyond your boundaries.  Trust yourself.  Make each choice with the knowledge that the world will reflect your intention back to you – every time.  Move beyond the familiar and routine.  Allow your own goodness to guide you… choose love…choose generosity…stay open…be optimistic – and watch miracles unfold for you. So now let’s get quiet, breathe and allow today’s meditation to move us toward miracles.”

Deepak Chopra:

“Every day is about choices, the small or larger decisions that cannot be avoided.  If you embrace decision-making with optimism, you’re making success a living reality.  If you avoid making decisions and feel vulnerable when you have to make one, this can be remedied by acquiring the skill of smart choices.

As Pablo Picasso remarked, ‘Action is the foundational key to all success’.  Like an artist whose action consists of putting exactly the right brush strokes onto the canvas, choices and actions are intimately linked.  Yesterday we learned that every letter of the word SMART defines a specific approach to the choices we make.  Let’s expand on the first letter.

“S” is for stretching more than you can reach.  When you first hear such a thing you may draw back, preferring not to stretch because it spells risk, uncertainty, even danger.  But in terms of your body, the reverse is true.  If you leap into action without stretching, a visit to the gym or running a marathon can spell disaster.

Stretching is a way of testing your limits, enjoying the experience and becoming more flexible every day. What applies to running and going to the gym applies just as much to the mind.  If you stretch your ideas before you make a decision, what you finally decide will be stronger for it.

Stretching your mind is one of the most practical ways of obtaining self-awareness because you are looking from a new angle without judgement, prejudice or the risk of failure.  Whoever has learned to love new thoughts can never be threatened by them.

In practical terms, a mental stretch includes the following possibilities. You consult people’s opinions without pre-judgement You value the experience of those who have walked the walk before you You reveal more of yourself than you usually do in terms of feelings and points of vulnerability You delve into books whose authors think deeply, even if you can’t understand everything they say You take time to imagine and dream outside of conventional problem-solving

There are separate activities but stretching comes down to being open instead of closed.  A stretch is like mental yoga, where the stretch is not only about getting a limber body but about putting your awareness into a new place.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
I make smarter choices every day

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Eem Hreem Shreem  This mantra harnesses the forces of success.  As you repeat the mantra, let the energy of success support every aspect of your life.   Repeat it silently to yourself Eem Hreem Shreem. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, return yourself to repeating the mantra, Eem Hreem Shreem. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes Eem Hreem Shreem. Just mentally Eem Hreem Shreem.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought.

Write down an experience you had where an apparent solution had hit a wall, but your mind didn’t stop and eventually came up with a creative way around the obstacle.

“To design the future effectively,
you must first let go of your past.”
— Charles J. Givens

Message of the Day:

Welcome to the second week of our 21-Day Meditation Experience, Manifesting True Success. We learned in the first week that success is not some distant external goal. It is something we begin to live and breathe every day in all that we do. This week we will learn that success springs from making dynamic choices not bound by old habits and beliefs. These kinds of dynamic choices are explored using the acronym S-M-A-R-T. We will look at the components of smart choices one-by-one this week and explore how these smart choices synchronize with success.

S – Stretch more than you can reach

M – Make everything measurable

A – Agreement with your inner self and those around you

R – Record your progress

T – Time limits for acting and getting a result

Smart choices require us to move outside our comfort zone and familiar boundaries. The choice to begin this 21-Day Meditation Experience is a great example of being flexible and open to new ideas.

Oprah Winfrey:

Well, here we are, Friends, beginning week 2 of our Manifesting True Success meditation journey.  I think we made great strides in week 1 by recognizing that success is an everyday, in-the-moment living reality.  This week we get to go even deeper, making every choice an opportunity for success.  You know by now that you are the choices you make, every choice defines you.  Every choice gives you a chance to pave your own road, to create your course, to literally create your life.  Right now you are one choice away from a new beginning. The universal law I believe in most passionately is this law of intention.  Every choice begins with an intention.  Your intentions create your thoughts.  Your thoughts create your choices.  And your choices create your life.  When you get that, you get just about everything.   You have the right to choose what’s best for you at every moment of your life so listen to yourself and know that when your choice comes from your most fearless, your most optimistic loving self, your fully awakened self, it will be a choice that inevitably moves you toward success. Deepak guides us to that whole, fully awakened place where the best choices await.  Let’s go there right now through meditation – together.

Deepak Chopra:

Everyone’s source is the mind and from the mind we make choices.  There are only 2 types of choices.  The first type is based on conditioning, beliefs, habits and mindset.  This is a static choice.  The second choice is a dynamic choice.  It is based on being open to the here and now.

To be successful today means embracing dynamic choices and avoiding static choices.  Most people find it hard to create success because they have set limits on how they are willing to act.  They avoid risks, they have a narrow comfort zone, they cling to old ways without testing if these ways are right for the situation at hand.  They depend on constricted awareness which isn’t the best way to face new challenges and one of the worst ways to be in the present moment.

You will shift away from the safe zone of static choices and move toward more flexibility and openness. No one is asking you to do this overnight or in a drastic way.  Your old conditioning, habits, beliefs and mindsets are part of who you are.  You need to negotiate with your old static self and move into your true dynamic self.  I like to use the acronym, SMART to describe the kind of choices that are synchronized with success.

S – Stretch more than you can reach
M – Make everything measurable
A – Agreement with your inner self and those around you
R – Record your progress
T – Time limits for acting and getting a result

SMART has a long history in management thanks to writers like Peter Drucker and Paul J Meyer.  I’ve expanded on their proven success formulas to provide this consciousness-based version.  Smart choices can be made in any situation from how you relate to your family to how a government is run.  At every stage of progress, SMART will change so don’t try to enforce rigid boundaries and rules on yourself or others.  The key word is dynamic which is all about flow, flexibility and openness.

The fact that you are entering this 21 day meditation experience indicates you are willing to stretch beyond the reach of your old self.  The S in SMART is already a part of the choice you have made.  In the next few meditations we’ll find out how all of the letters of SMART lead to making the right choices on the path to success.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
I make choices from my true self

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra Aieem Namah.  This mantra aligns your intelligence with the intelligence of life.  As you repeat the mantra feel your intelligence sync up with universal intelligence. Repeat it silently to yourself Aieem Namah. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, return yourself to repeating the mantra, Aieem Namah. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Aieem Namah. Just mentally Aieem Namah.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought

“You are loved just for being who you are,
just for existing.”
— Ram Dass

Message of the Day:

Today we complete the first week of our journey together. Congratulations! This week we have learned that success is an inner process toward worthy goals that expands our love and creativity. We have also learned that our body, mind, and emotions are key allies in manifesting a successful life. Our meditation today is about enlisting our most vital and yet often overlooked ally – our being. Being is the silent, unshakable foundation of our life. It gives purpose, strength, balance, and direction to our life, just by virtue of its existence. It is different from the other allies which actively send signals back to us to regulate life. Being is self-regulating, self-sustaining, and self-aware. When we are connected to our being, we feel secure, confident, loving, open, and awake.

CENTERING THOUGHT
Success flows from my being.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Sarvatva Namah

I open my awareness to wholeness.

 Day7 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Here’s the truth as I know it – the essence of success is wholeness, being fully connected to the wisdom, serenity and grace of your core being.  Welcome to Day 7!  We are already completing our first week of manifesting true success. Today, we come to a full circle moment.  We’ve experienced how love, creativity, our emotions, our bodies and our minds each open a unique path to success.  Now we get to bring them all together into a kind of divine wholeness, a more profound, rich and expansive connection to our essential selves and that connection unleashes a vital new energy, a new foundation of wholeness from which a transcendent experience of success will emerge.  So take a deep breath, embrace a new and deeper wholeness within as Deepak guides us in today’s meditation.

Deepak Chopra:

We assume that success is a matter of hard work, constant activity and effort.  Society fosters these beliefs and one often hears that with persistent hard work, anything is possible.  What gets ignored is the basis of action because there is self-defeating action and pointless routine work too.  Action in itself is neutral.  There must be a solid foundation and a direction that gives your daily activity purpose and meaning.  This foundation is your own Being. This is the ground state of all experience.  If you are firmly established in your own being, you can draw upon a peace and calm that withstands any crisis.  From the deepest level, you have such a strong sense of self that outside influences do not sway you.

Self-reliance and independence are your natural state and therefore it is easy to resist anything that will harm your integrity. As awareness expands, so does your Being or Spirit.  When you are connected to your Being, you feel centered, safe and secure.  You’re not overwhelmed by what is happening around you.  You enjoy being here without the need for constant distractions.  Your sense of self extends to empathy for other people and a deep connection to the natural world.  These things are part of you and if you are not experiencing them, there is a disconnect that has built up from various events in the past.  Someone in a state of disconnect feels unsafe and insecure.  They need distractions but these become less and less effective because beneath the surface there is disturbance and disquiet.  Excessive activity and the inability to settle down make this restless undercurrent worse.  A vicious circle is set up where more distraction is needed in order to escape the underlying disturbance.

The answer is to reconnect with your own Being.  The fourth ally, your own Being is silent like the influence of gravity, time or space.  They serve as the physical background, the steady state of the universe.  Your steady state is also in the background yet unlike gravity, you can consciously connect with it.  Set aside time every day for meditation and self-reflection.  Notice the difference between being settled and calm as opposed to be aroused and unsettled.

Being is self-regulating.  Once you connect with it, all aspects of the mind-body system begin to rebalance. As long as you take time to reconnect, your Being offers itself without reservation in all its wholeness.  No ally is more powerful or desirable than wholeness itself.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
Success flows from my Being

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Sarvatva Namah.  This mantra honors the wholeness of the universe functioning within you.  As you repeat the mantra, feel your connection to the perfect harmony of the cosmos.    Repeat it silently to yourself Sarvatva Namah. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, return yourself to repeating the mantra Sarvatva Namah. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Sarvatva Namah. Just mentally Sarvatva Namah.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought. Success flows from my Being

Journal Entries:

  • Today’s meditation is about recognizing your Being as the root of all your success. Being itself is abstract and outside of sensory experience, but we can monitor our connection with Being by noticing how we feel after meditation. After today’s meditation, did you feel more relaxed, clear, and peaceful? Write down anything you notice. Any feelings of ease and calm indicate a growing connection to your Being.
  • Feeling insecure, anxious, and glum are often indications of disconnection from your state of Being. When you feel safe, centered, happy, and alert, you are connected to Being. Think back over the last few days of the Meditation Experience and write down the general feelings you have after meditation, during your daily activities. Do your feelings during activity indicate greater connection to Being?
  • Our Being is intelligent, creative, and self-organizing. When we connect with it, it automatically balances and organizes divergent aspects of our life. Have you had an experience where the organizing power of your Being seemed to solve a problem, without you having to do much? Maybe it was a misunderstanding with a loved one, where you couldn’t talk to them directly, but you felt the silent organizing influence of your Being resolved the issues effortlessly. Write down an experience where the power of your Being solved a problem.

“I don’t want to be at the mercy of my emotions.
I want to use them, to enjoy them.”
– Oscar Wilde

 Message of the Day:

Today’s meditation centers on the role our emotions play in supporting our success. Nothing is more intimate to us than our emotions. The current of feelings that underlie all of our thoughts and physical sensations has a major influence on every choice we make. Even after a careful, rational analysis, we tend to make our final decisions based on what feels right to us. For that reason, it is vital that we heal and train our emotions to be reliable and trusted allies. We want our emotions to support our success. Emotions like anger, depression, and anxiety can undermine our success, but the answer is not in repressing emotions. Emotions need to move, and settle into calmer patterns so that they can reliably support our success with insight, energy, and joy.

CENTERING THOUGHT
My emotions are my most intimate ally.

Day6 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome!  It’s Day 6 already of our meditation experience.  Yesterday we opened ourselves to the treasures of an expanded mind.  Today, we move beyond logic and start tapping into the infinite intelligent guidance of our emotions.  I believe that emotions are a gift from the deepest part of our consciousness.  What happens when you pause and ask yourself, ‘why do I feel this way?’.  It is through self-awareness that emotions can be your greatest guide, a window into your soul.  While reasoning can help us evaluate a situation, it’s really with your heart, emotion, that you can see things most clearly.  Our emotions are what connect us to our spirit.  Negative or positive, our emotions always let us know when we are on the right track or when we’re veering off course.  When we use our emotions as a beacon, remembering that we are not our emotions but rather the awareness of the emotion, the awareness behind them, it’s then that our emotions can lead us home.  That, My Friends, is following the light to your own success.  So let’s sit back as Deepak sheds more light on that path, and then we’ll all meditate together.

Deepak Chopra:

Nothing lies closer to us than our emotions.  The mind can devise reasons, pro and con, for any decisions which can lead to much indecision. To be successful, you have to be decisive.  Where the mind might find it very hard to choose what to do, our emotions are often much more reliable.  It has been truly said it is far better to feel your way through life than to think your way through it.

Successful emotions must be trained to become a trusted ally.  Emotions can work against your success, anger, anxiety, depression and obsessions pose obstacles in life, at least temporarily.  And, if any of these negative emotional states persist and become chronic, the obstacles to success are often quite serious.

We are not talking about positive thinking as a solution or trying to maintain a constantly optimistic disposition.  Instead, we want to bring emotions into the support group that every successful person needs inside.  How is that done?  First be aware that emotions are tied to every choice you make.  It isn’t possible to make purely rational decisions because every part of your brain participates in everything you think, feel or do.  The emotional centers of the brain never sleep.  They are always sending their input to the rational or higher brain.  Therefore, deal with your emotions as constant companions and advisers. They can be enormously positive because emotions are the root to deep insight and creativity.

Instead of fighting or suppressing negative emotions, accept that every situation has an emotional component.  Check in and ask, how you feel.  When you check in to you emotions, you allow them to be expressed and to move.  Emotions are meant to move.  When your push them down, deny them or stifle them, they become stuck.

If you feel your emotions are causing discomfort during the day, do what you can to return to a state of comfort.  The most basic is to get out of the uncomfortable situation to be alone with yourself so that you can take deep breaths, center yourself and sit quietly until the discomfort eases.  If the motion is still causing discomfort, turn to your emotional self and say ‘we can manage this and feel better’.  ‘At the first opportunity, I promise to take care of what’s wrong.’  This kind of inner negotiation works very well as long as you follow through.  Make emotional care part of your process of self-care.  You are your emotions.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought, My emotions are my most intimate ally.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.

Gently introduce the mantra, Om Shanti Om.  This mantra settles the emotional body and soothes the heart. As you repeat the mantra, feel the turbulence of the emotions settle down into serenity.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Om Shanti Om. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, return yourself to repeating the mantra, Om Shanti Om. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Om Shanti Om. Just mentally. Om Shanti Om.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought. My emotions are my most intimate ally.

Journal Entries:

  • To help make your emotions a better ally in your success, you must become better acquainted with your feelings. Ask yourself, “How do I feel?” and write down in your journal a few words that describe your emotions.
  • Now note how your body feels in relation to those emotions. Do the positive emotions feel more open, expansive, and light in your body? Do the negative emotions make your muscles, breathing, and posture feel more contracted, tight, and tense? Write down the feelings you experience.
  • Sit comfortably and notice one of the uncomfortable emotions within. Perhaps it’s a persistent worry you have about your mother’s health or a difficult relationship with a coworker. Notice where that worry is held or felt in your body, then begin to take slow, deep breaths from your diaphragm. Dialogue with your emotional self and say, “We can manage this worry and start to feel better.” As you continue to breathe, see your body relax in your mind’s eye and release the worry it is holding. Write down your experience of how the release process went, and how you felt afterward.

“Belief in oneself is one of the most important
bricks in building any successful venture.”
— Lydia M. Child

 Message of the Day:

Our meditation today is on making your mind an ally in your success. Just as we learned how befriending the body supports us in manifesting success, your mind also plays an essential role in helping you pursue your worthy goals. Although everyone’s mind has an almost limitless potential for creativity, inspiration, and insight, we tend to vastly underutilize our minds out of habit and lack of exercise. Fortunately, the mind is adaptable and can renew itself at any time. This flexibility is reflected in neuroscience research that tells us the functioning of the brain is capable of laying down new neural pathways, as well as healing and regenerating new brain cells. All the brain requires is the directive of the mind. When your mind becomes your close ally, you can overcome self-defeating thought patterns and replace them with self-supporting thoughts, laying the foundation for meaningful success.

 CENTERING THOUGHT
I gain insight and inspiration from my mind.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Hreem Namah

Day5 mts

 Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome to Day 5, A successful Mind.  Yesterday we explored how the body supports us in renewing and re-energizing our success every day.  The same is true of our brilliant minds.  By now, we all understand that our thoughts create our reality and what we think determines what shows up for us.  Change the way you think and you change your life.  That is true! Allow yourself thoughts that transcend the boundaries of what you think you know.  Let your mind expand to embrace the challenging and new.  Trust the thoughts that uplift you, bringing you fresh and inspired insights.  There are treasures in our minds if we give ourselves the time, permission and space to discover them.  We are inviting success that knows no limits. So let’s join Deepak now in exploring some of those riches and then we will meditate.

Deepak Chopra:

Your mind is a powerful ally, serving your success by inspiring you and bringing insights.  Most people under-use their minds for many reasons – they don’t feel as smart as others; they place the mind on automatic pilot, employing their mental energy on routine and habits.  They don’t exercise their minds creatively and therefore mental functions begin to atrophy and weaken.

The good news is that your brain physiology is structured to renew itself and create new pathways and behaviors for your entire life.  The latest findings in neuroscience reinforce that the brain is capable of healing and renewal.  It only needs new intentions and consistent feedback from the mind.  There is every reason to make your mind an ally, not an obstacle.  You can begin today, a process of renewal that needs only some self-awareness on your part.

The following behaviors apply to your life here and now.

Notice any self-defeating thought and replace it with a self-supporting thought. Ask for and expect better ideas. Have the patience to await a better idea. Give your mind new material to think about. Stop and say no to repetitive routine thinking.

The purpose of these behaviors is to restore fresh thinking while avoiding old mental ruts.  First, get in the habit of noticing when you have any thought that causes discomfort, anxiety and other forms of self-defeat.  Let’s say you face a challenging situation and you think ‘I’m not good enough’.  Stop and make a choice to replace this thought, being as rational as possible.  Your substitute thought might look like any of the following:

I am good enough. I know that I’ve been successful at this before I don’t know if I’m good or bad at this challenge but I’m willing to try, and ask for help.

Give yourself permission to have a thought that settles you, makes you feel more confident and offers an alternative you can trust.  Once you start to do this, your mind will open up and become your ally.  Every problem created by the mind can be solved by the mind. Have patience with yourself because you are making a major shift By deciding to accept your mind as an ally is immensely helpful in becoming a success.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
I gain insight and inspiration from my mind.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Om Hreem Namah.   This mantra clears and simplifies the mind.

As you repeat the mantra, see your mind becoming as pure and still as a crystal clear lake.   Repeat it silently to yourself, Om Hreem Namah. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to repeating the mantra, Om Hreem Namah. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Om Hreem Namah. Just mentally Om Hreem Namah.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought. I gain insight and inspiration from my mind.

“A healthy body and a sound mind
are necessary to achieve success in life.”
— Yajur Veda

 Message of the Day:

Our body is our primary supporter and ally for all the success we make in life. To be our solid foundation of success, our body must be aligned with the present moment, and with our goals, our values, and our loves. For that we must free the body from the false images the media and society tell us is the ideal body. Those external standards of youthful beauty and attractiveness are not the criteria for a successful body. For your body to be a true ally in a successful life, it only needs to support your wellbeing. That means not only general physical health, but also a sense of energy and lightness that upholds your awareness in the present moment with alertness, receptivity, and creativity. You can have this kind of a body if you treat it as a dear and trusted friend. If you make choices for your body on this basis, your body will take care of your wellbeing and that will express itself as a successful life.

I love this quote from The Buddha. “Our body is precious, it is our vehicle for awakening, treat it with care.” There is so much wisdom in our body.  It is our greatest ally, always seeking to renew, rebalance, support and sustain us.  As Deepak will teach us, our bodies help us enhance and enrich each moment to its fullest.  When mind, body and spirit are in sync, life becomes a symphony and every moment a unique and powerful note.  So let’s embrace how our bodies faithfully support us. Listen as Deepak leads us toward a new understanding of the vital role our bodies play in creating success. And then we will meditate.

Deepak Chopra:

Every success story includes support from other people.  Just as important are the allies that support you from within.  The first ally is your body, the physical platform for everything you accomplish in life. Today, bring your body into your overall intention to be successful, not in the future, but in the present moment.

Society is obsessed with bodies as visual images but I’d like for you to stop thinking in terms of images, youthfulness, or any external standard for a so-called ‘perfect body’.  Think, instead, in terms of a successful body which only needs to meet one criterion, adding to your well-being.  You can have this kind of body all your life, in fact, it’s the body you were born with.  Your body allows you to live in the present, to optimize every moment of the day, to bring a feeling of lightness and energy, and to keep every mind-body process in balance.

How to get and maintain such a body?  First you decide that your body is your friend, a trusted ally.  It is not a problem, a source of unhappiness or second-hand goods; nor is your body just a machine for working, eating and sleeping.  It is a living, intelligent, dynamic creation.

Any time you make a choice about how to deal with your body, ask a simple question, ‘Is this how I would treat a friend?’  You will immediately know what to do.  Consideration and care are basic issues between two good friends and they apply to your body which is willing to support you no matter what you ask of it. This support comes from trillions of cells organized for only one goal – to keep you in balance.  When you find yourself resisting the type of balanced diet, moderate exercise, good sleep and management of stress that you know is good for you, don’t fight with yourself.  Don’t look on the situation as a struggle against weakness or bad habits.  Those negative motivations will only wear you down and eventually lead to more frustration.   Instead, celebrate that you have a trusted friend who will travel with you to the farthest and highest goal that you set for yourself. If you’re about to neglect or mistreat your body, pause and ask yourself if you would do that to a friend. The right answer will come to you immediately.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering though,
I gain lightness and energy from my body.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.

Gently introduce the mantra, Om Ram Ramaya.  This mantra activates balance, strength and healing in the body.  As you repeat the mantra, visualize your body radiating light and vitality.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Om Ram Ramaya. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more. Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, return yourself to repeating the mantra, Om Ram Ramaya. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Om Ram Ramaya. Just mentally.  Om Ram Ramaya.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought.  I gain lightness and energy from my body.

“The key to success is discovering your
innate power and using it daily.”
— Les Brown

Message of the Day:

Today’s meditation brings us deep within to the source of our thoughts, feelings, and desires. This is our creative source, the place from which we create our present experience from moment to moment. Getting reconnected to your inner self is the key to manifesting lifelong success. When you approach each moment with fresh eyes and an open heart, you are no longer defined by your past pain or your fears for the future. This creative power of your conscious self is a new kind of creativity. It’s not limited to artistic ability or outside-the-box problem solving. It is the power of your being to recreate the unique expression of life that is you at this present moment. That is the primal creativity of Nature itself moving through you, and this is the creative power behind all success.

Day3 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome!  Its day 3 of our meditation experience. Today, we explore the essential connection between success and creativity.  With each breath you take, and each sensation you feel, you’re creating and re=creating yourself in divine rhythm with the very moment you are living.  Just take that in for a moment.  The more deeply immersed you are in this present moment, the more fully your creative spirit flourishes.  You renew yourself and open doors to the success that comes from evolving, growing and receiving the abundance your life holds for you.  Really!  Connect with that creative flow.  Let its current carry you.  It is the infinite wellspring of success.  Listen now as Deepak guides us to our inner creativity. Open yourself up and from there we will meditate.

Deepak Chopra:

The third part of success is the ability to be in touch with your creative source.  How is this ability acquired?  The mind is your source because no matter what you do, every action is based on a mental activity which includes sensations, images, feelings and thoughts.  The deeper the source of your metal activity, the more you know who you are.  Being in touch with who you are is, for me, the single biggest secret of success.  The most intriguing thing about the present moment is that it never grows old.  It constantly refreshes itself.  As every moment is born, there is an act of creativity when you realize that the present moment is already created, it changes the whole complexion of what creativity means.

It doesn’t mean having a special artistic talent or creative gift.  It means connecting with the present moment was fully as possible.  In this very moment, sheer creativity is unconsciously taking the raw data of the conscious senses, billions of pieces of information that you see, hear, touch, taste and smell, and turning it into a unique creative expression which you call “me”.  No one else in the world is metabolizing material exactly as you are right this moment.  And the future of your creative self depends on what you do right now.  If you meet the present moment fully, every moment feels new and energized, not old and stale.  You are eager to embrace the unknown and lose all sense of time and aging.  If these things seem out of reach, remind yourself that every cell in your body is doing that already because your cells couldn’t survive without recreating themselves constantly and readapting to every new circumstance.

Why then do we fail to connect with our own creative source?  Because we block the moment by doing the reverse of what a healthy self does automatically.  We see reality as something imposed from outside.  We avoid the unknown and fear what it may bring.  These attitudes are being erased now as you learn the skills of success simply by having the intention of renewing yourself and finding freshness in your daily life, you are connecting with your creative source.  Being in the moment is the most powerful creative act you can do because it opens the gates for your inner creativity to emerge.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering though, I draw from the wellspring of my creativity.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Har Haray Haree.  This mantra connects you to the source, the flow and the manifestation of the creative force.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Har Haray Haree. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return your attention to repeating the mantra, Har Haray Haree. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes.  Har Haray Haree. Just mentally.  Har Haray Haree.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought.  I draw from the wellspring of my creativity.

“Do what you do with love,
and success is a natural symptom.”

— James Altucher

 Message of the Day:

Our meditation today is about understanding the central role love plays in our success. We might think that our relationships, our passions, and caring for ourself and for others may only be a small factor in our overall success in life. But these bonds of love define our emotional core and tell us who we are and how we are connected to the world. These currents of love, caring, and passion are what awaken our creativity and carry us forward to accomplish big things in life. By tapping into your love, you are establishing your success on your core values and truths. Living your life from that center of love, you can only be successful.

CENTERING THOUGHT

Day2 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome to day 2 of our journey toward manifesting true success.  The great spiritualist, Thomas Merton said, “Love is not just something that happens to you, it is a certain special way of being alive”.  What I know for sure is if you invite love to flow through your heart space into everything and everyone around you, that flow elevates you.  It will connect you to all that is, and will become a constant north star, a guiding light illuminating the way to unbounded good fortune for you – whether it’s the love of what you do, the love of others, or most importantly, loving yourself.  Each moment of love that you create gathers significance and becomes its own miracle.  That, My Friend, is a life of success to let’s listen to Deepak and then we’ll meditate.  Miracles await us!

Deepak Chopra:

Another important aspect of success is the ability to love and be loved.   A successful life extends to the highest spiritual dimensions.  But it also must be practical in the here and now.  If you can increase the love in the world, if you love yourself on the road to success and if you identify with love as your deepest personal value, then you have grasped what true success is.  Someone who has created great success realizes that nothing is more important than love because it includes the following:

* Having a passion for what you do every day, feeling bonded emotionally with everyone who shares your passion and is helping you to succeed.
* Finding the seed of bliss within and following it intuitively.
* Loving the planet enough that you will help to preserve it and do nothing to spoil it.

Taken together, these strands of love are the emotional core that inspires people to do great things.

On a daily basis, love reminds us that we are interconnected.  David Frost who achieved world-wide success in telecommunications and had the ability to think globally said, “Don’t infer success if you want it.  Just do what you love and believe it and it will come naturally.”  It can be scary to do what you want unless your state of awareness has expanded.  Only then can you see how much potential you have within once you follow the flow of your intuition and love.

Sit quietly and center yourself.  Visualize something or someone you truly love.  Choose a moment that stands out as totally joyful for you.  Bring that moment to mind.  Feel the sensation that is created in you.  This sensation is your possession.  It has become part of you.  Therefore you can manifest it whenever you want.  All it takes is a quiet moment, a centered state of calm and the intention to bring love to the surface. This is how you make the second part of success a living reality.  You bring it into your daily process as something alive, vibrant, valuable and trustworthy.  This skill only needs self-awareness but it will nourish mind and body, keep you in touch with your happiness and make you more aware of who you really are and what really matters.  Love is at the very source of your true self and success comes easily when your true self is a trusted guide.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering though, I am here to bring more love into the world.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Aham Prema.  This mantra helps you embody love in every action.  As you repeat the mantra, visualize yourself opening to your true state of love and compassion.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Aham Prema.  With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, return yourself to repeating the mantra, Aham Prema.  Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes.  Aham Prema.   Just mentally.  Aham Prema.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought.   I am here to bring more love into the world.

“Success is not a destination,
but the road that you’re on.”
— Marlon Wayans

Message of the Day:

We warmly welcome you to our 21-Day Meditation Experience, Manifesting True Success. We are so glad you are joining us. We will be looking at the idea of success in an entirely new way. Instead of seeing success as an outer goal we arrive at, we will learn to experience it as an inner state of being that we can live right now. You are already manifesting your success because success is a creative endeavor. It is the evolving realization of worthy goals. We will learn how to align our choices and aims with the values and worthwhile goals we hold within us. The key to knowing what is important to you, and what direction you want your life to grow, is to develop self-awareness. In our three weeks together, our meditations will awaken our consciousness so that we can manifest the kind of success that is true to who we are.

Day1 mts

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome Friends.  Deepak and I are happy to share this transformational 21 day meditation experience with you.  Over the next three weeks together, we are going to explore and come to know what true success really is, and then, through meditation, you will feel your own powerful ability to manifest true success in every area of your life.  In week 1, we focus deep within where true success emanates and grows, from the wisest, most profound part of your very being. What I’ve learned over the years is that true success is not what you achieve today, it’s not even about all of the accomplishments or acquisitions you hope to gain tomorrow.  What I know for sure is, real success is lasting, rewarding, soul-filling.  Success is sustained when we can embrace the greater energy within us and that is ultimately the energy of love which is also the energy of inspiration, creation, expansion, generosity and joy.  So, when you can open yourself up to those forces, the universe inherently begins to co-create with you.  What happens is wondrous, amazing success beyond your biggest dreams. When you can learn to quiet your mind, you being to innately feel and know your own truest destiny. Goals take on a new meaning.  Your light gets brighter and the path gets clearer and easier – always. Listen as Deepak illuminates a new understanding of goals and success.  Then we’ll meditate and let the transformation begin.

Deepak Chopra:

Our theme is success and the goal is to create success from within.  When success is defined by externals, how much money you make, the positions you acquire, your status and power through your career, it is easy to believe that such success is granted to the few.  But what if success is defined differently, as an inner state.  If you turn within, you can be successful this very moment because in reality, being successful is a creative process and you are engaged in it already.  In other  words, true success is something we live, it is not an end stage where we arrive.

The first step in creating success is to align yourself with the right choices.  Some choices create a path to success, others block the path.  Let’s define success in terms of choices you can make today.  Its starts with the progressive realization of worthy goals.  You set a goal that takes months or years to excel at. This is a time span that you embrace because you love what you are doing.  Your vision of a worthy goal makes it much easier to respond to setbacks and crises which are normal on the path to any worthy goal. You are not dismayed by external setbacks because your goal comes from within.

What is your worthy goal going to be?  This is a unique and important decision.  You don’t have to decide once and for all.  Your goal can and should evolve.  The key to finding a goal that will sustain you for a long time is to be self-aware.  Success is tied to knowing who you are and what you are here to do.  Pick your worthy goal.  For me, it is service.  You can pick a single word too, or a phrase.  Among the worthy goals that may inspire you are the following.  Love and compassion for all.  Promoting peace.  Teaching others. Pursuing creative expression.  Protecting the weak.  Promoting culture.  Exploration and discovery.  Being of service.  Choose a goal without worry that it must be permanent.  Sit quietly and center yourself.  Take a deep breath.  Exhale.  Another deep breath.  Exhale.  Now a third breath.  Exhale.  Now think about the goal you want to achieve.  Let’s say you want to be of service.  Ask yourself:

* Am I already living my goalat least part of the time?.
* Is this pursuit enjoyable and energizing?
* Does it come naturally and make me feel more like the person I want to be?

When you can answer yes to these questions, you’re making your success a living reality.  A life pursuit that will allow you to thrive today and tomorrow. As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering though,
I create my success from within.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Sheevo Hum.  This mantra helps your individuality connect with your essence of pure potentiality.  As you repeat the mantra, see yourself opening to your natural state of unlimited possibilities.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Sheevo Hum.   With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to silently repeating the mantra, Sheevo Hum.   Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Sheevo Hum.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought.
I create my success from within.
