“The more you are grateful for what you have,
the more you can live fully in the present.”
― Dana Arcuri

Message of the Day:

In today’s meditation, we explore how gratitude engages us in the evolutionary flow of life. When we offer the world our gratitude, grace responds and completes the circle. Our inner and outer worlds merge into one harmonious flow of existence. As we use our gratitude to join this awakening of joy and beauty around us, we also find that our life becomes easier, more fun, and more meaningful. This nurturing power of grace comes from the source of ‘Being’ which sustains everyone and everything in the universe. As human beings we can consciously choose to step into this flow of grace to enrich and elevate our lives.

Day04 Grace

Oprah Winfrey:

What I know for sure is that every one of us is seeking the same thing. Each of us wants to know, ‘Do you see me?’, ‘Do you hear me?’ In fact, what we want is grace. Welcome to day 4, Grace is Replying. Grace is the knowledge that we belong, that we are understood, and that we are a meaningful part of something big, deep and powerful. And gratitude is the catalyst. As Deepak is going to show us today, when we express gratitude, grace responds. Isn’t that beautiful?

Be present in gratitude and grace automatically responds, taking us beyond the confines of our own familiar experiences. The little things, the little moments, well, they aren’t little, says Jon Kabat-Zinn, and he couldn’t be more correct because when we are present in gratitude, we awaken the bigness of even the smallest things in life. You see things differently, hear things anew, everything matters and that’s what we’re all seeking.

Indeed, that is grace. Let’s listen to the signals of grace within and all around us. Deepak is going to guide us there.

Deepak Chopra:

The more you discover about how your mind, body and spirit are connected, the more you see that everything flows naturally. Once you awaken the energy of gratitude, there is a response that closes the circle. You are heard, you are understood, you are appreciated. That’s how life keeps evolving by circling back within itself.

When you take a moment to be grateful, grace responds. This shows you that you are in the flow and with each new response, you can move forward in your life. But how do you know that grace is responding? Some signals come from within. If you express gratitude, the signal that comes back to you would be a sense of peace and calm. There could be a moment of joy. Your perception may shift. The bare tree outside your window in winter suddenly looks perfectly shaped and harmonious, a beautiful creation instead of a bare skeleton.

Other signals come from outside in response to your gratitude given silently to yourself. Suddenly someone shows how much they appreciate you, a difficult task becomes easier, an unexpected answer arrives. What connects inner and outer is that you have joined the flow of wholeness. Everything becomes increasingly effortless, more enjoyable, more vibrant.

This isn’t what most of us were taught about grace.   When I was young, grace was considered mystical, rare and saintly but I was also taught that grace is like the rain, it falls on everyone alike. That is much closer to the practical reality. Grace is the nurturing force in nature like the purity of air, water and sunlight that sustains all life.

Being aware, human beings can reach out and ask for grace. We don’t depend only on the raw ingredients and elements of life. We have desires and aspirations. Because grace comes from a deep source within you, it is intelligent and creative. It knows who you are and who you want to be so it tailors it’s response to fit your situation.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
Grace is flowing back to me
Grace is flowing back to me

Now let’s prepare for our meditation. Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply. With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed. Gently introduce the mantra,
Twam Eva Mata

Twam Eva Mata means the universe is our mother. This mantra reveals the truth that our relationship with the world is a supportive spiritual relationship. By relating to the world with love and appreciation, we receive unconditional love and support in response, just as a mother to her child. As you repeat the mantra feel your individual connection to your universal existence as the intimate relationship it truly is, like the bond between a child and its mother.

Repeat it silently to yourself,
Twam Eva Mata
Twam Eva Mata
Twam Eva Mata

With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more. Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to silently repeating the mantra,
Twan Eva Mata
Twam Eva Mata
Twam Eva Mata

Now release the mantra. Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly. When you feel ready, open your eyes.

As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought
Grace is flowing back to me
Grace is flowing back to me
Grace is flowing back to me

“Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.”
Karl Barth

 Message of the Day:

In today’s meditation, we learn how to recharge our gratitude batteries. If we are tired, upset, or stressed, then our heart is closed and we are not able to feel or express real gratitude. Genuine gratitude comes from a feeling of contentment, safety, and being welcomed in your life – what Buddha called the “gladdened heart. This natural energy of gratitude is awakened when we meditate. Our intention in meditation will be to invite this warm attitude of appreciation into our awareness and perception. With this recharged heart of thankfulness we will find reason to be grateful wherever we look.

CENTERING THOUGHT

Day03 Grace

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome to day 3, Awaken the energy of attitude. This is a good good day.

There is a unique one-of-a-kind power in gratitude. It’s an energy that elevates and expands you, even as it brings you to a deeper place in your own heart. Bestselling author Melanie Beattie said it beautifully: ”Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It unlocks what we have into enough – and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.”

Nothing around you changes. You change. When gratitude shifts the moment, it shifts you.

For today’s meditation, open up to the attitude and grace that your gratitude ignites. We’re going to share in this special energy together. So let’s listen to Deepak and then we will meditate.

Deepak Chopra:

Yesterday we began the process of making grace real and practical. This happens through something the Buddha called gladdening the heart. A closed heart cannot feel gratitude. When you feel irritated or angry with somebody, or if you are simply stressed and tired, you don’t have the energy to be grateful. When you have no energy for giving, forcing it won’t work. Gladdening the heart is like recharging a battery. It replenishes the energy of gratitude.

First you need to recognize what this particular energy feels like inside yourself. It’s the feeling that you are welcomed and safe in your life. You feel you are supported in whatever you want to be. The good things in your life show that abundance has included you. This is the natural energy of gratitude when you find in your own awareness.

The next thing is to renew this energy and this happens when you meditate. You are specifically requesting the warm attitude of thankfulness. At a deep level where all possibilities exist, your awareness will renew this energy which is gratitude.

We are not talking about looking outside the window and seeing a shiny new car and a perfectly manicured lawn. You can feel a surge of gratitude simply by gazing at a beam of sunlight and watching how the bright particles are dancing in it. True gratitude comes from knowing that you belong in the infinite dance of life.

To gladden your heart, consider the perfectly precise chain of events that created this very moment. There is wonder in perceiving how the tiniest element fits into the whole, how your existence is woven into the existence of everyone you love including every memory of love.

Whenever you feel something outside yourself to be grateful for, it is not the thing that creates gratitude, but the energy of joy inside you. A gladdened heart is our birthright. To awaken it comes naturally – as we have been doing right now.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
I am gladdening my heart
I am gladdening my heart

Now let’s prepare for our meditation. Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply. With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed. Gently introduce the mantra,
Ananda Hum – or I am bliss.

This mantra awakens the inherent joy in our hearts so that we look out upon the world with love and gratitude. As you repeat the mantra, feel your heart swell with joy. Repeat it silently to yourself,
Ananda Hum
Ananda Hum
Ananda Hum

With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more. Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to silently repeating the mantra,
Ananda Hum
Ananda Hum
Ananda Hum

Now release the mantra. Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly. When you feel ready, open your eyes.

As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought.

“Gratitude is the experience of our true self.”
— Gina Lakes

Message of the Day:

Gratitude is a two-way flow of appreciation between your thanks and the uplifting response that you feel in return. Today in our meditation, we begin that conversation and find that as this conversation expands, we create even more thankfulness. We will learn how the flow of gratitude from the heart is received by Nature in the same spirit it is given, and it is returned back to us as grace. In today’s meditation, we learn to express gratitude from the silence of our awareness, which is the source of grace within.

CENTERING THOUGHT
All good things bring gratitude.

SANSKRIT MANTRA

Day02 Grace

Oprah Winfrey:

Have you ever paused and noticed how you feel when you are thankful for someone or something? Take a moment and consider this…when you are present in that feeling of gratitude, you feel more open, more generous, more connected, more aware and alive. Welcome to Day 2. Gratitude is Within You.

Your experience of gratitude can be for yourself, for someone or something, or for your connection to that which is greater than yourself – a higher power – whatever that may be for you. When you activate gratitude by giving it your attention and intention, you create a whole new energy flow. The energy of gratitude knows no bounds and it returns to you, bringing unlimited goodness. Something within you changes and everything around you changes. That, my Friend, is what I call grace. So take some deep breaths, soak in Deepak’s words, and let’s use today’s meditation to feel the warmth, the light and the transformative power of grace and gratitude within you.

Deepak Chopra:

Discovering that grace can bring transformation isn’t new. For centuries in many cultures, there has been a tradition of thanking God every day and in return, God bestows grace which in Sanskrit is called Kripa. Offering gratitude starts an inner conversation. On one side of the conversation is thanks and devotion for the good things in your life.   On the other side is the response which is to bring you more good things to be grateful for. So let’s begin the conversation this moment. Think of 3 good things in your life. They don’t have to be the most important things – just whatever you feel in your heart. If it’s a beautiful morning and you have a rose sitting in a vase and breakfast sitting in front of you, there are there things already. Now, take the first things, whatever it is. If it isn’t sitting in front of you, visualize it in your mind. Send thanks to it. You can say the words Thank You if you feel comfortable starting that way but the real key is feeling. Let the feeling of gratitude come from your heart. It’s a warm, gentle sensation that brings a smile.

Now comes a new element. Imagine that whatever you’re grateful for – a person, a precious memento, something beautiful in nature, is aware of your thanks. See it smiling back at you shimmering with the same warm feeling. Your thanks has been received and welcomed. After a moment, go the second thing and give thanks for it and then see it receive your thanks. Move on to the third thing and repeat again. You have successfully started the flow of grace.

Grace, when it is alive and flowing, works like a feedback loop. You give something to the source and in turn a response comes back to you. The secret is that every time you do this, you change the pathways in your brain. These new pathways change your perception. They allow you to pay attention to the good things you are grateful for and in return, grace welcomes you.

Now that you know the method, make it part of your routine. Start paying attention during your day-to-day activities, taking a moment for each thing you are thankful for. Feel the emotion, don’t just have a passing thought. The best way to feel gratitude is in mind and body. Let the warmth of gratitude begin in your heart and spread outward. It helps to visualize what you are gratefulfor. Honouring how you are supported, even in the smallest ways connects you emotionally with the flow of life. Gratitude brings the support you need in life. This is how grace becomes real ad practical. You are learning the truth behind the teaching of Kripa which goes back thousands of years.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
All good things bring gratitude
All good things bring gratitude

Now let’s prepare for our meditation. Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply. With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed. Gently introduce the mantra, Kripa Hum.

This means, I am divine grace. This mantra sets in motion the flow of grace through gratitude. As you repeat the mantra, feel yourself as both the giver and receiver of blessings.

Repeat it silently to yourself,
Kripa Hum
Kripa Hum
Kripa Hum

With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more. Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to silently repeating the mantra,
Kripa Hum
Kripa Hum
Kripa Hum

Now release the mantra. Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly. When you feel ready, open your eyes.

As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought
All good things bring gratitude
All good things bring gratitude

“Belief in oneself is one of the most important
bricks in building any successful venture.”
— Lydia M. Child

 Message of the Day:

Our meditation today is on making your mind an ally in your success. Just as we learned how befriending the body supports us in manifesting success, your mind also plays an essential role in helping you pursue your worthy goals. Although everyone’s mind has an almost limitless potential for creativity, inspiration, and insight, we tend to vastly underutilize our minds out of habit and lack of exercise. Fortunately, the mind is adaptable and can renew itself at any time. This flexibility is reflected in neuroscience research that tells us the functioning of the brain is capable of laying down new neural pathways, as well as healing and regenerating new brain cells. All the brain requires is the directive of the mind. When your mind becomes your close ally, you can overcome self-defeating thought patterns and replace them with self-supporting thoughts, laying the foundation for meaningful success.

 CENTERING THOUGHT
I gain insight and inspiration from my mind.

SANSKRIT MANTRA

I open my consciousness to reality.

Day5 mts

 Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome to Day 5, A successful Mind.  Yesterday we explored how the body supports us in renewing and re-energizing our success every day.  The same is true of our brilliant minds.  By now, we all understand that our thoughts create our reality and what we think determines what shows up for us.  Change the way you think and you change your life.  That is true! Allow yourself thoughts that transcend the boundaries of what you think you know.  Let your mind expand to embrace the challenging and new.  Trust the thoughts that uplift you, bringing you fresh and inspired insights.  There are treasures in our minds if we give ourselves the time, permission and space to discover them.  We are inviting success that knows no limits. So let’s join Deepak now in exploring some of those riches and then we will meditate.

Deepak Chopra:

Your mind is a powerful ally, serving your success by inspiring you and bringing insights.  Most people under-use their minds for many reasons – they don’t feel as smart as others; they place the mind on automatic pilot, employing their mental energy on routine and habits.  They don’t exercise their minds creatively and therefore mental functions begin to atrophy and weaken.

The good news is that your brain physiology is structured to renew itself and create new pathways and behaviors for your entire life.  The latest findings in neuroscience reinforce that the brain is capable of healing and renewal.  It only needs new intentions and consistent feedback from the mind.  There is every reason to make your mind an ally, not an obstacle.  You can begin today, a process of renewal that needs only some self-awareness on your part.

The following behaviors apply to your life here and now.

Notice any self-defeating thought and replace it with a self-supporting thought. Ask for and expect better ideas. Have the patience to await a better idea. Give your mind new material to think about. Stop and say no to repetitive routine thinking.

The purpose of these behaviors is to restore fresh thinking while avoiding old mental ruts.  First, get in the habit of noticing when you have any thought that causes discomfort, anxiety and other forms of self-defeat.  Let’s say you face a challenging situation and you think ‘I’m not good enough’.  Stop and make a choice to replace this thought, being as rational as possible.  Your substitute thought might look like any of the following:

I am good enough. I know that I’ve been successful at this before I don’t know if I’m good or bad at this challenge but I’m willing to try, and ask for help.

Give yourself permission to have a thought that settles you, makes you feel more confident and offers an alternative you can trust.  Once you start to do this, your mind will open up and become your ally.  Every problem created by the mind can be solved by the mind. Have patience with yourself because you are making a major shift By deciding to accept your mind as an ally is immensely helpful in becoming a success.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
I gain insight and inspiration from my mind.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Om Hreem Namah.   This mantra clears and simplifies the mind.

As you repeat the mantra, see your mind becoming as pure and still as a crystal clear lake.   Repeat it silently to yourself, Om Hreem Namah. With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to repeating the mantra, Om Hreem Namah. Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes. Om Hreem Namah. Just mentally Om Hreem Namah.

Now release the mantra.  Continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought. I gain insight and inspiration from my mind.

“Creativity requires the courage
to let go of certainties.”
— Erich Fromm

Today’s meditation addresses our sense of self-worth and its impact on fulfilling our desires. Your true self – your core consciousness, is divine. You are pure light, love, joy, and fulfillment. You deserve happiness and the fulfillment of your desires, because happiness and fulfillment are your essential nature.  In today’s meditation, we will experience our inner selves and know our true worth. As our experience of our real self becomes stronger, so does our awareness that we are deserving of all that is good. You don’t have to do anything to be deserving – you already are deserving.

CENTERING THOUGHT
I deserve complete fulfillment.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Shreem Kleem Namah
I attract abundance from my true self.

 Day05

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome to Day 5, The Fulfillment of Desire.  Worthiness is your birthright and that’s what I’m here to tell you.  I’m here to let you know for sure that you are enough.  You are whole and complete, simply because you were born.  When it comes to manifesting the lives we now most desire, we attract the strongest support from the universe.  When we start from a place of feeling fulfilled and abundant – not from a place of lack.  Think for a moment about how the energy of attraction works.  Like attracts like.  That is the law.  So the energy of deficiency brings you more deficiency.  As you embrace and connect with your wholeness, your true self, you align with the most powerful energy in the universe; that which is the source of all things – I’m calling it source energy which is ready and waiting to flow with you, to help you, support you in all that you desire.  As Deepak leads us into our meditation today, open your heart to the truth – that you are complete.  You are 100% complete, just as you are.  In that knowingness, you can attract all that your complete, true self desires.  Deepak is going to show us how fulfillment is the exquisite basis of our very existence.  And then we’ll meditate.

Deepak Chopra:

We have a desire because we feel a lack.  Just as hunger makes you eat when your stomach is empty, there is a sense of need behind every desire.  Need is double-edged.  If it’s part of growing, expanding and evolving, need is good.  Everyone benefits from the need to explore who they are, to find more love, to reach for the highest.  But the other side of need is feeling that you, yourself are not enough – that you need more things, more money, more food, more distractions because otherwise you feel empty.  The energy of attraction would be weak if this is your motivation; after all, how can a person with a bad self-image harness power?

At the level of your true self, you already feel complete.  You are whole.  The only thing the true self wants is to see you whole which involves growth, expansion and evolution.   Just being yourself, you direct the energy of attraction where it needs to go.  There is no need for massive will power.  Because fulfillment is our true nature, our birthright, the energy of attraction is working for us in a positive direction.  That is its natural tendency.  But we make the decisions – our personal choices define what gets attracted to us.  If you feel unworthy or guilty about desiring good things, it means we do not know our true self.

Once set in motion, a desire brings more than one isolated result.  All desires are woven together in our lives.  A new car, a new love interest, a new faith each speaks to how we see ourselves.  The self we identify with, and that is always changing.  When we desire with conscious awareness, we are connecting to what the true self wants for us.  In a word, the next thing you want is the best thing for you.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering though.
I deserve complete fulfillment.

Let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Become aware of your breath and just breathe, slowly and deeply.  With each breath allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Shreem Kleem Namah.  This mantra affirms that you deserve the fulfillment of all your deepest desires.  As you repeat the mantra feel that you’re drawing divine abundance to your life by being deserving, worthy and whole.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Shreem Kleem Namah.  With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra.  Shreem Kleem Namah.    Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes.   Just mentally.  Shreem Kleem Namah.

Release the mantra and continue to sit restfully, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes.
As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought,
I deserve complete fulfilment.

Journal Entries:

1.  Make a list of the ways you might feel unworthy or undeserving of having your desires fulfilled. It’s not important to know the source of these feelings – just identify the feelings of unworthiness. Now write about how these feelings constrict your spirit and define your worth by your past actions instead of being based on your true nature.

2.  Write about a time when you felt completely in the moment and you knew anything was possible. It could be an experience in meditation, or out of meditation during daily activity. Those feelings you had were from your true self – the self that is not defined by your past, but by your own truth.

3.  In your journal, write the line, “My true self is…” and then add on all the descriptive phrases of what your peak experiences feel like. It could be, “liberating, effervescent, invincible, brilliant, wise, fun…” Then add, “Therefore I deserve complete fulfillment.”

“Happiness is part of who we are. Joy is the feeling.
― Tony DeLiso

Welcome to our 21-Day Meditation Experience, Expanding Your Happiness! We are delighted that you are joining us.  Over the next three weeks together, we will learn that happiness is much more than an aspiration. Happiness is our true nature – our very source of being. When we expand our awareness within, we discover that there is no limit to our happiness. And as we grow in happiness, we can’t help but share that happiness with those around us. We’re used to thinking of happiness as a pursuit or the emotion we feel once we attain what we want. During these three weeks we will approach happiness differently – internally instead of externally. Rather than seeking one temporary joy after the next, we will explore the permanent and limitless source of joy that is our essence. Once we connect with our inner bliss, we find joy, understanding and fulfillment in all our actions.

 Today’s Centering Thought
“Happiness is my true nature”

 Sanskrit Mantra
“Ananda Hum  – I am bliss”

Day1

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome Friends, to the newest 21 day meditation experience, Expanding Your Happiness.  Today is day 1 of a remarkable new journey together and the theme of our exploration today is Feeling Joy.   Both Deepak and I feel great joy to be sharing the next 21 days with you as we all deepen our experience of happiness, whether you are an experienced meditator, or you are joining us for the first time, this will be an expansive journey inward to the happiness you were born to know.  Happiness is a knowing, it’s not a goal that you pursue, not a reward at the end of the yellow brick road.  Just like Glenda the Good Witch said, ‘You’ve had it all along’.   Happiness, the essence of bliss, is your true nature.  It is at the core of who you are.  It is within you, in your closeness to the Source of all that is.  This 21 day journey will, hopefully, reconnect you with the essential source, and open up the flow of that joyful energy so that you will be able to experience it in its fullest and share it with your world.  Once you feel and allow authentic joy, every choice you make will continue to expand your state of happiness in ways you just can’t imagine and as you tune into the powerful vibration of joy life just keeps getting better and better and better and better.  So happiness…. here we go…

Deepak Chopra:

Although millions of people seek happiness outside themselves, the world’s wisdom traditions teach us that this isn’t necessary.  External happiness fades with time.  The most wonderful experience is transient.  What is permanent is the source of happiness which lies in consciousness.  Over the next three weeks, we are going to turn wisdom into reality, showing you how to discover that your essential nature is happiness.  Happiness expands from within us all the way out to the world, the way a tiny seed sprouts and grows to full flowering which then shares it’s sweet fragrance.

Here is an overview of where this journey will take us.  In the first week, we’ll connect with inner silence, the ground state from which happiness springs.  Once you connect with the source, you experience that happiness doesn’t have to earned, we don’t have to strive to be happy when it’s already part of our essential nature.  It’s enough to settle into silent awareness which isn’t empty.  No matter who you are, the quality of bliss or joy known in Sanskrit as Ananda, awaits inside, waiting to be nurtured.

The second week is devoted to the expansion of happiness.  No one’s level of fulfillment is predetermined.  The choices you make are critical.  Every thought and action can take one of two parts, either contributing to the state of well-being, or detracting from it.  Your brain and every cell in your body is exquisitely attuned to the input it receives.  The most powerful input comes from the deepest level of awareness that you are experiencing.  As we deepen our experience of silence, happiness expands and permeates mind and body.

In the third week, you will be totally in the flow of consciousness which allows you to take the next step – offering the gift of your happiness to others.  Expanding happiness is the fragrance of lilacs in a soft summer breeze.  The natural expression of happiness is to do good in the world.  The most powerful way to do good is to act from the core of your being and each meditation makes the act of doing good more effective and fulfilling.  The first step of any spiritual journey is the most important and here, the best beginning is to value your own happiness.  Many people don’t do this.  The give to others but find it hard to receive.  They want to be loved but are afraid to ask for it.  They have a sense that wanting too much happiness is somehow selfish but none of these obstacles matter once you realize that in expanding your own happiness, you are simply expressing more of your true nature.

The world’s wisdom traditions lay out a path to unlimited happiness and once you accept this as a real possibility, there is no reason for bliss or Ananda to be limited.  So the expansion of happiness is important because the flow of bliss is the purpose of life.  There are strong social messages telling us that to be happy we need to be wealthy, attractive, successful and healthy but these messages have it backward.  Contact the source of happiness within and then every experience will be infused with bliss.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering though,
Happiness is my true nature.  Happiness is my true nature.

Now, let’s prepare for our meditation.  Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.  Be aware of your breath and just breathe, slowly and deeply.  With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.  Gently introduce the mantra, Ananda Hum.  This mantra helps your individuality connect with your core bliss or happiness.  As you repeat the mantra, visualize yourself opening to your natural state of happiness.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Ananda Hum.  Ananda Hum.  Ananda Hum.  With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra, Ananda Hum.  Ananda Hum.  Ananda Hum.  Please continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes.  Ananda Hum.  Ananda Hum.  Ananda Hum.  Just mentally.  Ananda Hum.  Ananda Hum.  Release the mantra.  Continue to sit comfortably, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes.

As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought,
Happiness in my true nature.  Happiness is my true nature.  Happiness is my true nature.

 Namasté

Message of the Day:

Welcome to our 21-Day Meditation Experience, Finding Your Flow! We are so happy that you are joining us.  Over the next three weeks together, we will learn to connect with the flow of our life force—a powerful current that will guide, transform, and awaken us to our true selves. The flow of life is composed of various streams of energy . . . our impulses for security, happiness, power, love, creativity, insight, and self-actualization all move together to form our unique life expression. In living this expression, we find our flow—the universal rhythm within that is the infinite source of joy, balance, harmony, and love. We begin our journey by establishing our core sense of security as the stable basis for all the growth to come.

Day1 Security

Oprah Winfrey:

Welcome, Friends.  Deepak and I are so happy to have you join us for this powerful new 21 day meditation experience, Finding Your Flow.  For those of you who are new to meditation, this will be an experience of heart-opening expansion and joy I certainly hope so.  For those of you who have been with us before, you already know this is a beautiful new journey.  For everyone, we are about to share an inner guide for transforming your life.

One of the truths I most deeply believe is that everything in life – everything –  is energy.  Within every one of us is the energy that makes the sun rise every day, and keeps the planets aligned.  It’s there, already inside of you, waiting for you to know it.  And when you tap into your connection with that source, that miraculous energy, what I know for sure is that the universe rises up to meet you in unimaginable ways, and will help you create the life you want.  This is the path we will be traveling over the next three weeks.  In week one, we’ll begin to understand how energy works, the energy within.  We’ll find and awaken the powerful flow that is available to us at every moment.  We’ll discover the kind of energy we are creating, whether we know it or not, and begin to connect to the essential knowledge that we are safe in the divine energy in the order of everything.

In our second week, we’ll harness that powerful inner energy as we begin to activate our flow.  We’ll connect to the seven key energy centers within each of us and use that connection to begin to build a grounded state of peace and possibility.  And in week three, once we’ve opened and begun practicing how to influence our own energy, we’ll experience transformation as we settle into the comfortable expression of our individual, magnificent flow.  It’s a powerful current that will allow joy, love, and fulfillment to come to life in you, through you, and for you.  So let’s begin.  Listen as Deepak guides us to a grounded place of safety and stillness.  From there, oh, will we flow! “

Deepak Chopra:

“We’ve learned from neuroscience that specific brain regions take on the functions of different areas of life. There are areas for the five senses, our emotions, and for basic needs like hunger and sleep.  Meditation directly affects these centers which is why the most research indicates that within a few minutes of a person’s first meditation, physical changes begin to appear such as heart rate, blood pressure and hormone levels.  Each day on this journey, we will use meditation to awaken a different aspect of the self, corresponding to a specific response.  In the spirit of the ancient  wisdom traditions, we will use meditation to find our flow in life.

There is a wellspring of deep, quiet, beautiful energy within.  And when you unleash it it will begin to shape your intentions, shape your thoughts, and especially your actions.  For centuries, the road to this inner world, and its gifts, has been through meditation which allows you to naturally access it’s hidden energy.  Today, we will awaken the flow of security, the place inside you that knows only safety, peace, and a sense of grounding.  Everyone has a basic need to feel safe.  Without it, life feels insecure and stress magnifies that insecurity.   We also have a core of stability inside that we can return to throughout the ups and downs of everyday life.  Once you experience this safe place inside, you have found the flow of security, the core of yourself that isn’t shaken by outer events.   Centered in this place, you can access a space of safety and security, even when you’re having a bad day or facing a personal challenge.  Today is about grounding yourself with the energy of safety, security, stability and peace.

As we prepare to meditate together, let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought,
My security and peace are within.

Now, we’ll begin our meditation.  Please find a comfortable position, placing your hands lightly in your lap and closing your eyes.  Notice the inflow and the outflow of your breath, just as it is.  Feel your body, noticing any tension it might be holding on to and let it melt away with each inhalation and exhalation.  Let go of all thoughts and expectations.  Trust that your meditation experience today and each day will be exactly right in the moment.  Now gently introduce the Sanskrit Mantra, Lam.  Repetition of this mantra during meditation cultivates a state of inner peace that helps you to feel grounded and safe.  Repeat it silently to yourself, Lam Lam Lam.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra, Lam Lam Lam.  Continue with the meditation for about 10 minutes.  Lam Lam Lam.  Just mentally.  Lam Lam Lam.  Release the mantra.  Take some time to rest, inhaling and exhaling slowly.  When you feel ready, open your eyes.

As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought,
My security and peace are within

To keep the essence of today’s meditation with you as you travel through your day, consider making time to check in with your experience of security.  Several times today, notice how you feel.  Do you feel centered and grounded?   When uncertain moments arise, do you feel safe or unsafe, secure or insecure?  Just observe and be with your feelings.  Pay attention to the moments that you do feel grounded and secure.  This natural state is one that you can always access and come back to, of peace and clarity.  The flow of feeling safe is part of your essential being, there to support you and bring you home to yourself, your true self.

Journal Questions

1. ” What does it mean when all the parts of your life are flowing smoothly?  What does that look like?  How does it feel?  As you write, allow yourself the freedom to explore, knowing there is no wrong answer to this question.”

 2.  “What are your intentions for this 21-Day Meditation Experience?  What do you want to learn and create in your life during our time together?  Be very specific with your intention – it is a powerful way to start any journey.  After writing, take a moment to visualize each intention as a seed you are planting today within your heart.  The time you spend meditating and journaling each day is the water and sunshine that allows your vision to sprout.”

 3.  “Write down a memory rom your past when you felt completely secure, safe, and content.  Know and feel that this presence of security is permanent and always available.”

Day22- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

We’re back for one more day – our thank you and our gift to you, our meditating friends around the globe.  Each day together has allowed us to expand in our essential connection to ourselves and to the power of source.  Today, we join our hearts and minds together to offer a united energy to the world, in wisdom, in acceptance, in trust.  So let us set a global intention and release it into the universe.  With this meditation, we continue to move toward a shift in our collective consciousness…to divine essence, to each other, and to a shared destiny of kindness and grace.  So get comfortable one last time and let us join our hearts, our spirits together, listening as Deepak guides us in a beautiful visualization of peace, unity for our world.”

Deepak:

Welcome back.  This day is a gift for you – our global community.  It certainly is a gift to us to have been able to take such an amazing journey with you and to have one more day together through which we can share our joy with the world.

Our meditation today focuses on peace, harmony, laughter,  over and well-being, the simple yet precious gifts of abundance that we can enjoy with and intend for our families, friends, neighbors and everyone around the globe.

Please begin by taking a comfortable seat and closing your eyes.  Turn your attention to your heart center.  Repeat these intentional words as today’s centering thought.  Love and abundance for all.  Love and abundance for all. Envision a beautiful white light emanating from your heart, this place of pure love, peace and joy.  Take a moment to be with this warm, expansive, healing light.  Feel it expand within each and every cell of your body as if nectar from the heavens is traveling through your being, filling you with the most blissful sense of peace and well-being.

Picture at the center of your now light-filled being within your heart, one of the special gifts that you have been placed on earth to offer the world.  It is dazzling in its brilliance, radiant with possibility.  Now imagine you’re a part of a vast circle that includes everyone else on the planet and everyone in that circle is also connecting with his or her inherent light as they visualize the divine treasure they have to share.  You gaze upon the light of each and every person as far as your eyes can see.  As you look a little deeper, you see and sense the bountiful gifts that are in the hearts of all the people, gleaming and golden, just waiting to realize their destiny, to be expressed and received lovingly, to elevate the vibration of peace and well-being for all.

You now hold your unique gift – your beautiful light in your hands.  Feeling the warmth, you tenderly turn to your right and gently offer it to the person beside you.  You feel completely received as your gift is accepted with honor, grace and gratitude.  With reverence, you turn to your left and openly accept into your heart, the gift that your neighbor is generously giving you.  Whatever that gift may be – a smile, a joke, or a warm embrace, you accept it and receive it in your heart with deep gratitude.  As you drink in the light and love, you turn back to the person on your right and share this blessing with that person, basking in the beauty and flow of the gifts being expressed, shared and received, one after another, you know that the circle is indivisible and the abundance is endless, delight in the knowing that the gift you are sharing is divine, infinite and eternal.

Brimming with this joyful expansion, clasp the hands of those next to you and enjoy the warm glow of peace and love that comes from freely sharing what we are on earth to offer.  Know that when we remove judgment, replacing it with heartfelt appreciation and generosity, we become one with the power of pure Spirit, making all things possible.   Send these feelings of peace, love, equanimity and joy to those in your life and those around the world who may be experiencing turmoil and pain.  Visualize the good feelings that you hold in your abundant heart, swaddling in a warm, soft blanket those who most need your gifts of peace and love, uniting everyone together as one.  See each and every heart and soul on our beautiful planet receiving peace, healing and abundance.

As you continue with your eyes closed, gently introduce the manta, repeating it silently to yourself.  Yum.  Yum.  Yum.  This is the mantra that opens the heart chakra offering peace, harmony, light and love to reawaken in the heart of everyone around the world.  Yum.  Yum.  Yum.  Remember that when you are distracted by thoughts, noises or sensations in your body, go back to silently repeating the mantra.  Yum.  Yum.  Yum.  Continue to meditate for about 10 minutes.  Then release the mantra and bring your awareness back into your body.  Take a moment to pay attention to the breath.  When you feel ready, open your eyes.

Thank you for sharing your abundant gifts with us and with everyone around the world.  Know that while our circle is now open, it lives on in our intention, reaching each person on our planet and filling him or her with love and light.  This wonderful journey has enriched all our lives and I am deeply grateful to have shared it with you.  I hold this heartfelt intention for you and our sisters and brothers around the globe.  Love and abundance for all.  Love and abundance for all.  Love and abundance for all.

Day21- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Here we are already. Hard to believe!  21 days have gone by so quickly.  Day 21, Extraordinary me.  Deepak and I are so grateful that you chose to stay with us, exploring your inner truth, allowing your deepest desires to emerge and guide you toward your true destiny.  Joy.  It’s been an extraordinary journey.  Each one of us is extraordinary with wondrous dreams and desires designed to help us fulfill our unique purpose in this lifetime – which can evolve and change over time.  Each of us has the divine potential to realize a magnificent destiny – all our own, by following and living our joy.  As you dream a bigger dream for yourself, my greatest hope is that you continue to find stillness within.  This I know for sure…for sure.  Giving yourself that space and quiet will lead you to even more miraculous dreams, more joy, more possibility, and a supreme destiny beyond your greatest imagination.  Nothing is too extraordinary to be achieved.  If you can dream it, and your intentions are pure, you can be it, and be of service in sharing it with the world.  What a gift for us.  What a gift for you.  Thank you.   And you know what to do.  Let’s get comfortable once more.  Breathe, relax, listen to Deepak and share stillness together.  Namaste.”

Deepak:

Congratulations on completing this magnificent 21 days together.  You know now that within you, you have all the tools you need to access your pure potential, to evolve your dreams into reality, and to live a life of extraordinary design.  We have learned so much during our 21 days together.  Now is the time to take your chance as you reach for the stars.  It is your destiny.

Right now, imagine something that you have always wanted but perhaps thought impossible.  That one idea that you keep tucked away, perhaps with such care that you have not even dared to speak it aloud.  Yet, you hold on to the dream because it resonates so deeply within you.  Close your eyes and see it.  Really see it.  Envision that you are living this dream right now.  It is your life.  No cutting corners, no holding back.  Your deepest dream in motion. What is your life like?  How do you feel?

As humans, we have the remarkable ability to transform all that we imagine into reality.  Understand that if a deep desire lives in your heart, a dream that is part of your soul’s fiber, a path exists to bring it to life. Abundance in all its forms is our birthright.  We were born to enjoy every aspect of life, to experience every emotion, and to discover the seeds of potential that live within.  As you practice trusting that the universe is always there to support you, I invite you to continue stepping into your greatest self, to experience everything there is to know, confident in the knowledge of who you really are – a radiant spirit worthy of everything life has to give.  See yourself united with the unlimited potential dwelling within you, and everyone and everything that is part of the universe.  From this place of unlimited potential, give yourself permission to dream big.  Tap into that vast reservoir of courage that is available to all, as you move through and well beyond your comfort zone into the space of infinite joy, peace and possibility.  As you embrace life with passion, seize each wonderful moment and make the most of each adventure.  Be rooted in the knowledge that you’re as mighty as the universe itself, full of love, joy and power.  You are star dust, a bright, golden light and all good things of this lifetime are indeed your divine destiny.

Before we begin today’s meditation, consider the centering thought, “My destiny is joy.  My destiny is joy”

Please be seated comfortably, relaxing your hands and your body.  Breathe effortlessly and easily and release whatever tension you feel.  Begin to repeat today’s mantra, just mentally.  Om Bhavam Namah.  I am absolute existence.  I am a field of all possibilities.  Om Bhavam Namah.   When you’re distracted by thoughts, noises, or sensations in your body simply return to the mantra.  Om Bhavam Namah.  Continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Then let the mantra go and become aware of your body.  Take a moment to rest, breathing with ease.  When you feel ready, you can open your eyes.

Throughout the day, envision yourself as the powerful being you are and think about our centering thought, “My destiny is joy.  My destiny is joy.  My destiny is joy”.

Namaste.

MINDFUL MOMENT
Continue to focus on the many people and things that bring you joy in this life. Your true destiny is bliss and joy, as it is for everyone around you. Spend time contemplating the many lessons you have learned on our journey together and see how they can help manifest joy in your life and in the lives of everyone you meet. As you make your way through your day today allow yourself to share your smile with others freely. Be the ripple of positivity and light that will change the world.

“The visionary starts with a clean sheet of paper,
and re-imagines the world.”

—Malcolm Gladwell

When we think of networking, we likely see ourselves at a cocktail party, handing out business cards, meeting new acquaintances, and sharing a little bit about ourselves. Today we will take a refreshed look at the possibility that opens when networking with our communities from a spiritual perspective—it is something quite different.  As we spend more time in stillness and align ourselves with intuition, we understand our roles as visionaries and we have the opportunity to connect with everyone around us in an entirely new way. Instead of “getting out there” in order to make something happen, we embrace opportunities to venture out because we want to meet new people, experience things we have never done before, and share what we have learned with everyone we meet. All of us are visionaries with something to share. Connecting fulfills us and enables us to help others find fulfillment as well.

CENTERING THOUGHT

Day20- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Welcome to day 20, Visionary Me.  In our last three weeks together, we’ve awakened to who we really are, to what we deeply want, and to the truth of our highest purpose.  All of this insight and energy needs one more spark to truly light up and manifest our destiny.  That spark comes from action, from connection and communication.  Everything I know is better when you share it.  And our destinies are richer when we are connecting to others.  Asking for what you want, sharing more freely of what you know, building on the co-creative power of spirit – these steps move us from holding a dream in our hearts – to actualizing it as part of our destiny.  What we speak comes to life, sparking collaborative potential, inspiring creative ideas, igniting possibility and opening the door for divine purpose to enter.  When we share, we step into certainty and move one step closer to our destiny.  I’m excited, as I know you are to, as we listen to what Deepak share about how our words inform our action and empower our intentions to the universe.”

Deepak:

In the stillness of meditation, during our journey together, we have become more connected to who we really are, our true self, our spirit.  As our self-awareness expanded, we began to see with clarity what we truly want and increase understanding of our divine purpose, our destiny.  Today, we will explore that there is another step required to truly activate and call in the manifestation of our destiny.   It is the action of connection and communication. It is through our willingness to communicate and share ideas, perspective and vision with others that we grow more comfortable being in, and speaking our truth.  We begin to let our guard down and sincerely ask what we want and need, and we give more freely, recognizing that we are all interconnected in consciousness.

With little effort, staying present with one another, and being ourselves, we start to recognize common personal and professional interests.  Inspiration seemingly comes out of nowhere and new opportunities spontaneously arise.  Through this purest level of connection, new ideas roll in.  Now, more connected with our intuition, we are pointed in the direction of where to go and whom to meet.

Sometimes, just going to what seems like and everyday place, to a party or a park, puts us in the most interesting space, giving us a spark of an idea, or a human connection that leads us further down the path of manifesting a long-held dream.  We have gifted our self with an authentic platform to share our vision, and as we courageously share, we receive support, inspire others, discover unexpected connection and new ideas, and we begin to live in the energetic flow of our destiny.  Together, in community.  This understanding puts an entirely new twist on the idea of networking.  No longer do we feel the need to get out there because we should make connections in order to succeed.  Instead, we want to be out there because we can’t wait to be in conversation about our vision and enjoy the camaraderie of our fellow human beings and the real excitement of life.

So while we’ve emphasized the importance of spending time in stillness is in our daily lives, pay attention to how that stillness informs action, honor the transformations you experience, and the new relationships you create and you begin to live your life more fully as the beautiful being you were born to be.  Today, I invite you to speak freely about what your vision and your dreams.  The spoken word is a powerful tool and by strengthening your voice, you expand your dreams from internal thoughts to external possibilities, laying the groundwork for divine purpose to manifest.  Know that by being in conversation, by verbalizing your desires out loud, you are empowering your intentions to the universe.

As we begin our meditation, contemplate today’s centering thought, the world is waiting for my vision.  The world is waiting for my vision.

Please get comfortable.  Sit with your hands in a relaxed position and release any tension in your body.  Begin to witness your breath, slowly inhaling and exhaling, inhaling and exhaling.  Begin to silently repeat today’s mantra, Aham Brahmasmi.  I am the universe.  Aham Brahmasmi.  As thoughts enter your mind, if you near noises, or feel sensation in your body, remind yourself of the mantra, repeating it effortlessly.  Aham Brahmasmi.  Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes.  Then release the mantra and bring your attention back into your body.  Take a moment to rest.  When you feel ready, you can open your eyes.

Throughout the day, embrace who you are as you consider our centering thought, the world is waiting for my vision.  The world is waiting for my vision.  The world is waiting for my vision.

MINDFUL MOMENT
Make a point today of reaching out to someone you have never had a conversation with before. For instance, there may be someone in your office to whom you’ve offered a polite greeting every day but never learned his name. Take a few minutes and talk to this person; get to know him or her and share something about yourself. Notice how much richer your life feels after you have enjoyed this person’s company.

We look forward to enjoying the stillness with you today. Blessings,

“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’
then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.”
—Vincent Van Gogh

How often have you had the experience of struggling to remember a person’s name only to have the name effortlessly revealed to you when you were engaged in something entirely different? The same thing happens when we wrestle with our minds for ideas or solutions. Once we let the challenge go and engage in something that frees our minds, the lightning bolt strikes!  This is the value of play. Play opens the pathways for creativity to flow freely. When we are engaged in play, we connect with the heart, rather than leading with our minds. As we access the essence of pure potentiality, transformative ideas and solutions come to us spontaneously, and we are boundlessly creative.

 Day18- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Welcome to day 18, Creative Me.  Just as we all have a teacher within, within each of us is an artist.  A dreamer.  A creator.  Creative inspiration, truth and destiny are all revealed when our lives are in balance and in flow.  Giving yourself permission to rest, play, to let your heart and mind rejuvenate is a must in order to realize your greatest potential. It’s when we let go, absorbed in a moment of pure play, relaxation, connection with nature, laughter, life or people, that the messages of the universe rise up to meet us.  When we become open and receptive, we create pathways where there were once closed doors.  There is so much power in knowing that our lives are ours to co-create.  So take a deep breath and relax into today’s mediation as Deepak encourages us to cultivate our creativity through pure, simple joy.”

Deepak:

Rest and play are not luxuries.  It is part of our destiny to simply be.  It is becoming more understood that play, rest, rejuvenation and celebration cultivate and inspire some of our best ideas.  When we are relaxing and playing, we are engaged in the here and now and more open to the ideas that come to us from pure consciousness.  When we let go and have fun, we release all sense of ego and all the ‘shoulds’ that can creep into our lives.  Opening the door for the creative spirit to flourish. Play is so important in helping us find our true purpose in life.  When we dance through life like children, engaged in activities that truly delight us, we open our minds and hearts to the essence of pure consciousness.  When we play, we lose all track of time and are absorbed completely in the present moment.  Our best creative ideas come to us when we are delighted.  Our minds are free to roam and explore.  We are wide open and the world is at our feet – ours to enjoy.

Rest is equally important.  As a society, we tend to be chronically sleep deprived and sometimes even proud of it since it indicates a busy life and total dedication to our work.  But true dedication requires balancing the brain for optimal performance which includes rest in the form of sleep, and spending time in meditation.  Connecting with the stillness of meditation, playfully engaging with nature, life and those around us, and making sure that we get adequate sleep are the perfect recipe for self-care.  These practices recharge and revitalize us, paving the way for creative inspiration and truth to enter our lives.

As we settle in for meditation, let’s consider the centering thought, I play, I create, I succeed.  I play, I create, I succeed.

Please take a comfortable seat and close your eyes.  Place your palms up or down on your lap, inhale and exhale slowly and deeply and feel your body relax.  Begin to introduce the mantra, repeating it mentally.  Om Bhavam Namah.  I am absolute existence.  I am a field of all possibilities.  Om Bhavam Namah.  When you feel distracted by thoughts, noises or sensations in your body, just go back to repeating the mantra silently to yourself.  Om Bhavam Namah.  Continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Then release the mantra and become aware of your body. Take a moment to rest.  When you feel ready, you can open your eyes.

Throughout the day, pay attention to how your body feels, taking adequate time for self-care and focus on our centering thought.  I play, I create, I succeed.  I play, I create, I succeed.  I play, I create, I succeed.

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken
joy in creative expression and knowledge.”
—Albert Einstein

Think about the people and experiences that truly inspire you. What is it about them that makes you feel this way? For many of us, we are inspired when we feel something we have never felt before. We feel uplifted when we gain a new insight that changes our perspective completely and when we learn something new that forever transforms us.  Each of us has that power to inspire another. Within all of us lies a wonderful teacher, a soul that greatly inspires others to seek the highest good and to engage fully in life, merely by expressing your authentic self. Embrace that inner teacher and know that you have something very valuable to offer everyone around you. Share your lessons freely and receive wisdom from others with openness, joy, and love.

Day17- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

”Welcome to day 17, Inspirational Me.  There is an ancient Buddhist quote which says, ‘When the student is ready, the teacher will appear’.  Well think about that.  We are all students and teachers in this earth school.  Everything in our lives shows up and is here to teach us more about ourselves.  Everybody we encounter is really a mirror – a reflection of a part of who we are.  And within each of us is a teacher – someone who inspires, listens and reflects, who demonstrates by their very being, something from which others can grow.  Each moment in life is a teaching moment and when we engage with one another, we become vehicles of life’s important lessons – large and small.  If we stay mindful, respecting and embracing the teacher within and remaining open to the teacher who lives in others, we find yet another path to living most fully, to receiving most abundantly, and to fulfilling a part of our most sacred destiny.  So, today, honoring that every moment is a moment to learn, and to teach, let us learn from Deepak as he guides us to the still space.”

 Deepak:

Within each of us dwells a teacher with the power to deeply inspire.  The word inspire comes to us from the Latin word, inspirare, which means divinely breathed into.  When we live our lives connected to our inner truth and unique destinies, we serve as models and teachers, true inspirations to everyone we meet.  Each of us, through our being, words and actions, has the ability and opportunity to divinely breathe the essence of the true self into one another.

Recognizing this power to inspire, we begin to connect with the teacher that resides not only in us but also in those who cross our paths.  We open ourselves to learning from everyone we encounter, most often our teachers appear to us quite obviously and we are quick to recognize the wisdom they impart.  At other times, our teachers can show themselves completely in disguise.  For example, when we silently witness an encounter with an unpleasant neighbor or motorist on the freeway, we realize that they too have something to teach us.  They have simply shared their lessons in ways we don’t expect.

Each moment in life offers us an opportunity to learn and expand.  As we choose to conduct ourselves as teachers in this lifetime, embracing our true and divine responsibility to our fellow human beings, and ourselves, we see the value of aligning our lives with Spirit and following our bliss.  In choosing to be humble teachers, open to the flow of learning as well as selflessly teaching by joyous example, we are shining lights of all that is good, and wellsprings of inspiration for others.

As we settle in for meditation, let’s consider the centering thought.  I embrace the teacher within.  I embrace the teacher within.

Please get seated comfortably.  Place your palms up or down on your lap and close your eyes.  Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply and feel your body gently relax.  Begin to introduce the mantra, repeating it mentally, Om Varunam Namah.  My life is in harmony with the universe.  Om Varunam Namah.  If you get distracted by any thoughts, noises or feelings of discomfort in your body, simply go back to repeating the mantra silently to yourself.  Om Varunam Namah.  Om Varunam Namah.  Continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Now release the mantra.  Bring your awareness back into your body.  Take a moment to rest.  When you feel ready, you can open your eyes.

Throughout the day, think about what it is you love to do and contemplate the centering thought, I embrace the teacher within.  I embrace the teacher within. I embrace the teacher within.

Today recall a teacher who really inspired you. Perhaps this individual was a person who taught in a classroom, but perhaps it was someone else—a grandparent, a neighbor, or an athletic coach.  Take time today to reflect on the ways that this person transformed how you saw the world, then without over-thinking it, consider how you can offer something of yourself to others so that they too can be inspired.

We look forward to inspiring one another today.  Blessings,

The expansion of happiness in this lifetime is our birthright. Finding what it is we are meant to do and be and identifying that which brings us the greatest happiness is our highest purpose in life. This is our dharma, our truth and, our destiny. Each moment presents us with a unique opportunity to express ourselves in ways that only we can. When we answer the call of our heart in each moment, we have the opportunity to experience pure joy.  Today’s meditation explores what it means to live our lives blissfully in each moment, understanding that the true reward is not the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but the journey along the rainbow itself.  Allow the bliss of being who you are, living as the unique soul you were born to be, carry you along the path of this lifetime and you will be living your life to the fullest.

Day16- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Here we are – day 16, Uniquely Me.  Each of us has a unique essential purpose, if not many purposes to fulfill in this lifetime.  Think of this for a moment – there is no one else on the planet that is here to be who you are – and give what you have to give.  No one else.  Just as your DNA and your fingerprints are uniquely you – so is your life’s purpose – and your life’s purpose is always evolving.  It is not something you create.  It is not some great idea you come up with.  Purpose is there all the time.   And it’s always calling you.  As Kevin Cashman says, ‘Purpose is Spirit seeking expression’.  When we tap into that expression, we find the defining thread running through out life and we integrate all of our life experiences.  When we recognize our purpose and our innate talents and share them freely with one another, we create a world of peace, harmony and love.  We fulfill not only our destiny but we begin to change the world.  That’s how you do it!  By fulfilling your purpose.  So, settle in as we prepare for today’s meditation, listening to Deepak explore, living our unique destiny in each moment.”

Deepak:

Each of us is a unique strand in the intricate web of life, here to make a unique contribution.  Woven within the very fiber of our being is our divine purpose.  Our distinctive essence waiting, even longing, to be expressed as a gift to the world and ourselves.  I believe that the purpose of life is the expansion of happiness, that when we identify those things that bring the greatest joy to our lives, we are on the trail of discovering this inner truth.  According to Guatama Buddha, your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it’.  When we live in alignment with that true purpose – or dharma – we are happy and create a ripple of good that emanates from within, extending to everyone around us.  Let’s look a little closer.  The concept of divine purpose is more like a winding path along a mountainside, than one specific destination.  There are many views and stops along the way and yet it is always the mountain we are traveling upon. Our essential purpose is always with us and is designed to be revealed and experienced over the course of a lifetime.  This path is our destiny, a collection of meaningful self-expressions that come to us spontaneously – and in the moment, at times; in waves or seasons at other times.  Yet, always present in the expression is the essence of our true selves.

So, may be my destiny and true purpose in this moment is to smile at the person I see while on my walk, who looks sad.  It may be to take action on the longtime dream I have had to start a business.  It may be to show up as a loyal and supportive friend.  Or even to take a gardening class.  What is your destiny today?  I invite you to spend time contemplating your destiny.  Observe and listen to the cues your heart gives you.  Give yourself permission to express your dharma and destiny.  Shine your unique light freely.  You’ll be surprised how beautifully the path of your life will unfold for you.  As Joseph Campbell once said, ‘Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors that were only walls’.

As we settle in for meditation, we’ll focus on our centering thought, Bliss be my guide.  Bliss be my guide.  Now, as you take your comfortable seat with your hands on your lap and your eyes closed, as we do each day, begin to pay attention to your breath.  Allow the sensation of relaxation to wash over your body and release any stress and tension as best you can.  Silently introduce the mantra, repeating it effortlessly.  Om Varunam Namah.  My life is in harmony with the universe.  Om Varunam Namah.  If you get distracted by any thoughts, noises or feelings of discomfort in your body, simply go back to repeating the mantra silently to yourself, Om Varunam Namah.  Continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Release the mantra and come into your body.  Take a moment to rest.  When you feel ready, you can open your eyes.

Throughout the day, think about what it is you love to do and contemplate our centering thought, Bliss be my guide.  Bliss be my guide.  Bliss be my guide.

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a
single moment before starting to improve the world.”

 —Anne Frank

Today we delve more deeply into what it means to be of service. When we serve others from a place of love, we are also serving ourselves.  For many of us, when we think of service, we envision great feats, sacrifices, large philanthropic donations, and other grand gestures. While service can be all those things, service can be much more accessible in our daily lives. Giving to others through service is simply recognizing what you do best in any given moment and offering that as a gift to someone else. For instance, in this moment, you may be sitting in a coffee shop across from someone who looks like she could really use a warm smile and, in this moment, you offer a smile in service to brighten her day. Giving can be that simple.  Think about how good you feel when you give someone a gift in this way and notice how serving someone else is a gift to yourself as well.

Day15- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Welcome to day 15 and the beginning of the final week of our Desire and Destiny Meditation experience.  During our last 14 days together, we explored the essential soul questions.  Who am I?  What do I want?  With Spirit guiding the way, we were able to connect to the truth of who we really are, and what we most truly seek.  Now, we’re putting all of those pieces together so that we may light up in the fullness of who we are and illuminate the world around us.  Another what I know for sure is this…what we give to others, we give to ourselves.  As far back as I can remember, my prayer has always been the same… “Use me God.  Show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself”.  That prayer has led me to this moment.  When we share our unique gifts – however large or small, we create significance.  We complete the circle of our destiny and that not only changes ourselves, it changes the world.  How can I serve?  That is the question all of us has come to ask.  So get quiet, breathe, and let Deepak guide us through the next essential soul question.  And then we’ll do what we do each day…were going to meditate.”

Deepak:

Who am I?  What do I want? … Two questions that have offered us great insight and opportunity to open to our highest understanding and expression of life.  Now, in our third week together, we begin to step into living our destiny.  Today, we will consider the next soul question on our path – How can I serve?

The word service can bring up many thoughts and feelings.  Often it is interpreted as a type of giving that can feel out of reach, like joining the Peace Corps to help people in distant countries, or giving time and money in ways that will change the word.  It can also be connected to thoughts of work, obligation, or one of those things that good people ought to do.  We may begin to believe that service requires self-sacrifice, a great deal of time, unique talent or expertise, perhaps even money.  We may wonder just how we can truly serve the whole world.

Martin Luther King Jr offers another way to look at this concept.  Everybody can be great because anybody can serve.  You don’t need to have a college degree to serve.  You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.  Service needn’t be grand gestures; we don’t need to embark on adventures far from home to be of service.  Service in every moment is about understanding our unique talents and using them to bring happiness to others and ourselves.  The universe is all about flow and dynamic exchange – giving and receiving which are simply different aspects of the same flow of energy.  Therefore, when we freely share our gifts with others, we really give back to ourselves.  It feels good to give, and giving also comes back to us from others through appreciation, love, smiles and hugs – the good things of life.

Now, let’s look within.  Close your eyes for a moment and ask, “How can I serve?”  This timeless question has no wrong answer.  It is a question that I encourage you to ask yourself every day.  How can I serve?  Quietly listen for the answer.  How can I serve?  Listen deeply, receive each and every whisper from your soul.  Receive and ask again.  How can I serve?  Once we begin to listen carefully to the answers within, we may be surprised at just how we are meant to serve.  As we listen, we open the door to infinite and abundant possibility.  As you travel through the day, give yourself permission to practice living in the spirit of service.  Perhaps you will hold the elevator door for someone who is rushing to make it in.  Or, you might share a smile with another.  Maybe today you will inquire about a volunteer project you have been thinking about.  We each have wonderful talents to share with one another.  We can freely enjoy the exchange of gifts, the flow of abundance – with everyone around us in the spirit of service.  So let’s ask ourselves again – how can I serve?  As we settle in for meditation, let’s contemplate our centering thought.  Serving others serves me.  Serving others serves me.

Make yourself comfortable with your hands resting in your lap and your eyes closed.  Begin to witness your breath as you inhale and exhale.  Allow your body to relax, releasing any tension you may be holding on to.  Start to introduce the mantra, repeating it silently.  Om Vardhanam Namah.  I nourish the universe and the universe nourishes me.  Om Vardhanam Namah.  If you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or sensations in your body, simply go back to repeating the mantra, just silently.  Om Vardhanam Namah.  Please continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Then let the mantra go and bring your awareness back into your body.  Take a moment to rest.   As you feel ready, open your eyes.

Throughout the day consider the flow of giving and receiving and contemplate our centering thought.  Serving others serve me.  Serving others serves me.  Serving others serves me.

Let today be your day to share random acts of kindness with generosity and joy. If you encounter someone in need offer a gift from the heart, be it a kind word, a joke, or a cup of tea. Hold the door open for someone, just because. Call a friend and share a kind word. When you are engaged in activity, give your full attention to it, knowing that when you are fully present, you are doing something with love and serving the world with your time and talent. “Let gratitude be the pillow upon which

—Maya Angelou

Congratulations on completing the first two weeks of our 21-Day Meditation Experience! Spending time in silence is an act of powerful self-nurturance. Through meditation, you are connecting more deeply with your heart, understanding its desires, and clearing a path to realize your dreams.  Today’s meditation focuses on gratitude. When we appreciate all that we have in life, our egos step out of the way, inviting even greater abundance into our lives.  Practicing gratitude for our lives as human beings – for the air we breathe, for our magnificent bodies, and the beauty of being alive – is a wonderful place to start. From this point of view, we can expand our gratitude outward, like ripples in a still pond, appreciating everything and everyone we encounter and those who touch our lives as well.

Day14- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Once again, we’re at the end of a wonderful week together.  We’re so grateful for this time we’ve shared.  Your participation enriches life for me, for Deepak and for all of us in this global meditating community.  That’s what today’s all about – gratitude.  Welcome to day 14, Grateful Me.  This week, we have harnessed our determination, our passions.  We’ve set our intentions and tapped into our intuition, knowing how important and powerful it is to surrender to the divine design of the universe.  Now it’s time to say Thanks.  Gratitude.  Let me tell you.  It is transformative.  I often quote Meister Eckhart’s powerful thought when he said, “If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, that will be enough”.  This, I know for sure, sure, sure.  Being grateful is by far the single most powerful thing you can do to change your life.  When you allow yourself to feel gratitude, wherever you are, for whatever is going on in the present moment, in the now, what I promise you is that the spiritual dimension of your life will change.  It will open up and it will expand and you will grow with it.  The more you are grateful for, the more comes for you to be grateful for.  If you want to fulfill your desire and your destiny, start by being grateful.  When we say thank you for what we have, we acknowledge all that the universe has given us and then you’ll begin to see…more shows up.  Now, with Deepak, we’ll take an experiential journey to learn just how appreciation for everything we have transforms us and invites even greater abundance into our lives.  So, get comfortable.  Here we go.”

Deepak:

This week, on the journey toward living our destiny, we’ve spent time contemplating the question, “What do I want?”, aligning us with a deeper understanding of what we truly want in this lifetime.  Today I invite you to consider the simple practice of gratitude as a transformational act that opens us to infinite abundance, boundless love and carries us to a place of deep peace.  When we can put the stories of our lives on pause for just a moment and marvel in the miracle of this life we are living, we begin to change our entire experience.  Gratitude is the doorway to abundance.  As we invite the energy of gratitude into our daily lives, we become alchemists, turning dark into light, scarcity into abundance, and fear into love.

When we focus on the things we are grateful for, we are open and accepting of life as it is – perfectly imperfect. Therefore, in gratitude, the ego steps out of the way, enabling us to connect more deeply with Spirit, the true self and the source of all those things that have manifested in our lives.

The highest level of gratitude is an appreciation for existence itself.   We are each blessed with the opportunity to experience life, each one of us uniquely exquisite, beings with magnificent capabilities.  We feel, we interpret, we create, we ride the waves, we love, we live.  When we silently thank the universe for creating us, just as we are, we realize our own perfection and experience the highest level of gratitude.

Spend a moment taking stock of everything in your life that you are grateful for.  At first, you may think of just a few things but as you continue reflecting, you realize there is so much more – the ability to breathe, the experience of your senses, the steady beat of your heart, the love of those around you.  All of these are simple things in life that come to you effortlessly and yet, in many ways, they are miracles that happen over and over each day.  Take a walk and experience nature – wherever you are.  Touch the leaves on a tree.  Run the earth through your fingers and quietly thank earth for the abundance it provides.  Just the ability to get from one place to another and witness all the beauty along the way is a glorious miracle.

Envision and embrace these feelings of gratitude.  See them as a ripple outward like a pebble dropped into a still pond.  As the ripples expand, see them carrying your gratitude as far as the eye can see.  Even further.  Touching the hearts of all humanity.

As we prepare for meditation, consider today’s centering thought.  Gratitude is my prayer.  Gratitude is my prayer.

Now let’s begin.  Make yourself comfortable, placing your hands gently in your lap with your palms open, closing your eyes.  In this moment, go within to that place of inner quiet where we experience our connection to the higher self.  Let go of all thoughts and begin to observe the inflow and outflow of your breath.  With each inhalation and exhalation, allow yourself to become more relaxed, more comfortable, more at peace.  Now, gently introduce the mantra, So Hum, repeating it silently and allowing it to flow with effortless ease, So Hum which means I am.  So Hum.  Now repeat it on your own, just mentally.  Whenever you feel yourself distracted by thoughts in your mind, sensations in your body or noises in the environment, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra.  So Hum.  Please continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes.  Now release the mantra.  Please bring your awareness back into your body.  Take a moment to rest, inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply.  When you feel ready, gently open your eyes.

Throughout the day, remember all the things you are grateful for and contemplate the centering thought.  Gratitude is my prayer.  Gratitude is my prayer.  Gratitude is my prayer.

“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”
—E.E. Cummings

When we hold tightly to a goal, we often find it to be elusive. We may say to ourselves, “I want this so badly. I can see my goal. Why can’t I reach it?” The answer lies within the fine art and practice of detachment.  As we detach from the outcome of whatever we desire, we let go and gently surrender to the wisdom of uncertainty, which holds our freedom from the past, the known, and the limitations of any preconceived notions. In our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we give ourselves over to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe, trusting that what we desire will come to us.

Day13- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Welcome to day 13, Faithful Me.  What a wonderful feeling – when we allow ourselves to simply be who we are.  Today, we honor the freedom to be.  When we accept who we are, just as we are, with trust in the power of source energy, we take an essential step along the journey to aligning with our true purpose and destiny.  So here’s another thing I know for sure…uncertainty is certain. Embracing and flowing with that uncertainty is an essential part of the path to freedom, to peace, to love and abundance in our lives.  And it takes courage to surrender, to trust in divine timing, to be in your own flow.  It takes faith and belief to open up and access that which is our deepest truth.  But, when we allow the force of the universe to step in, we access a level of love, strength and abundance that comes from the very capital S source of our being.  The power of that, well…. there really are no words.  So, let’s listen as Deepak guides us to surrender.  Let go to life as it is at any moment, and have faith that no matter what, you will be all right.  Then we’ll meditate.”

Deepak:

When we embark on the journey to follow our joy and fulfill our destiny, our constant traveling companion, our ego mind, naturally wants to know all of the details ahead of time.   Where exactly are we going and how long will it take?  Will we be safe and comfortable and enjoy ourselves?  Will we succeed in creating our desired outcome?

The ego mind creates certainty and control.  Yet life is inherently uncertain and can’t be controlled.  The good news is that while uncertainty can be unsettling, it is also the source of our greatest joy.  As the spiritual law of detachment states, in order to acquire anything in the physical universe, you have to relinquish your attachment to it.  This doesn’t mean that you have to renounce your desire and live the life of a monk.  Instead, you set your intention, take whatever action is inspired and relinquish your attachment to the result.

In detaching, you affirm your unquestioning belief in the power of your true self which is a divine expression of the universe.  Your true self is the source of all wealth, abundance and everything else in the physical world.  It is the consciousness that knows how to fulfill every need.  When you hold on to your desire with limited awareness of who you really are, you prevent the infinite organizing powers of the universe from bringing it into fruition.  It is like wanting to use the wind to fly your kite but being unwilling to let go of the string.

Remember that if you have been holding on to attachments for a life time, letting go isn’t going to happen in one fell swoop.  Be gentle with yourself and take one step at a time.  By opening yourself to uncertainty, even if just a little bit at a time, you will gradually release any self-imposed limitations and allow your life and journey to unfold in ways more wondrous and fulfilling than you could ever have imagined.  You will come to realize that there is nothing that you can lose that will diminish your wholeness and nothing you can gain that will add to who you are.  You are already whole and so is everyone else.  Hold the intention for everything to work out for the highest good of everyone involved and then let go and allow opportunities to come your way.

As we prepare to meditate, let’s consider our centering thought, I believe, I trust, I let go.  I believe, I trust, I let go. Let’s begin

Please sit comfortably and close your eyes.  In this moment, go within.  Let go of all thoughts and begin to observe the inflow and outflow of your breath, inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply.  Now, gently introduce the mantra, Om Bhavam Namah.  I am absolute existent.  I am a field of all possibilities.  Repeat the mantra silently to yourself,  Om Bhavam Namah.  Om Bhavam Namah.  Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts or noises around you, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra.  Om Bhavam Namah.  Continue with your meditation for about 10 minutes.  Then release the mantra.  Please bring your awareness back into your body.  Take a moment to rest.  When you feel ready, gently open your eyes.

As you walk through the day, contemplate our centering thought.  I believe.  I trust.  I let go.  I believe.  I trust.  I let go.   I believe.  I trust.  I let go.

 Namaste

 MINDFUL MOMENT
Take time today to explore the thoughts, feelings, and sensations connected to your experience of letting go. As you travel through the day, practice the fine art of detachment—let life flow. Invite yourself to shift your approach perhaps taking a different route as you make your way to work or school or by staying calm when you might otherwise not. Tune into what it feels like to let go; practice over and over today and see how your body, mind, and spirit begin to shift.

We look forward to our time with you today.  Blessings,

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”
—Theodore Roosevelt

When we follow our hearts, we make life choices that seemingly open doors for us without force, we are then aligned with our inner knowing. The path is revealed with ease. Other times, we may “over-think” our decisions, choosing the guidance of the mind over the messages of the heart. We may find that in these moments, our paths become filled with obstacles that hinder us at nearly every turn.  In today’s meditation, we will connect deeply with our hearts, our most trustworthy inner guidance system. As we relax into our heart-center, we access the wisdom of the whole universe and the blueprint for true happiness. The invitation is to silence the chatter—to gently release thoughts, judgments, distractions, and pressures—in order to truly hear our hearts’ desires and messages. Only then can we source our inner inspiration and realize not only our dreams, but our destinies.

CENTERING THOUGHT
I am inspired. I am unstoppable.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Varunam Namah
My actions are in alignment with cosmic law.

Day12- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Welcome to day 12, Inspired Me.  Now that we’ve opened up to our purpose, passions and intentions – very important word – it’s time to act and begin to understand how our actions impact realization of our dreams. When we force an action in hopes of creating an outcome we desire, we can actually block ourselves from magnificent possibilities.  If an action is born and inspired from the truth of you – from within – it’s coming from an essential and divine place, supported by the energy that helps us effortlessly move toward our destiny.  When we make choices based on out intuition and intention, the source of all knowledge of who we are and what we want from life, we steer from our hearts and we become the co-creators of our destiny.  So breathe, go as deep as you can, and let’s listen to Deepak’s inspired words today.   Today’s meditation will really open you up.”

Deepak:

Think for a moment about something you really wanted to happen, one of those times you were so connected to the outcome and passionate about the goal.  Yet every step you took forward, you experienced an obstacle.  You pressed on because your desire was so strong but you just could not shake the struggle.  While you arrived at your desired destination, you suffered some bumps and bruises along the way.  Take a moment to remember how that journey felt.

Now, recall a situation in which you had a goal in mind and very action you took toward it was effortless, comfortable, and easy.  Your inspiration was flowing and the doors just opened, one after the other, the next thing clear – nothing in the way, you just saw it.  You were inspired.  And then took smooth and easy steps toward success.  Your desired outcome was more delicious than you could have imagined.  Now reflect on that experience and what it felt like.

What was the difference?  When we force an action or an outcome, it’s much like when we’re stuck in traffic and we keep moving from lane to lane hoping that we’ll somehow get ahead of it.  However, when we take action that is inspired, we flow through our lives like cars on an open freeway, effortlessly moving toward our desire.

Our bodies give us cues through emotion, when we are forcing something and when we are in alignment with the universe.  It is important that we come to understand what those cues are – really feeling them inside.  Those are our road maps which guide us as we navigate through life.  If it feels right – it is.  If it feels uncomfortable or discordant in any way – it is.  Sometimes we override those emotional cues or feelings in our body that tell us we’re taking a more difficult route by forcing an outcome that we desire.  When that happens, it’s easy to open ourselves to greater problems or block ourselves from being present for something even grander in our lives to unfold.  We often do this because we are comfortable with what our ego minds foresee as right for us while the answer resides within our hearts.   Flowing with life from our heart involves trusting the unknown which can be uncomfortable.  When faced with uncertain choices, check in with your heart.  Is it singing with excitement and joy?  If it is, take action.  On the other hand, if there is confusion, worry or fear, be easy on yourself and wait for the inspiration to come.  Trust in your heart’s wisdom which is that of the universe as your loving and reliable escort to all things wanted.

As we prepare for meditation, consider today’s centering thought, I am inspired,  I am unstoppable.  I am inspired, I am unstoppable.  Let’s begin

Please sit comfortably and close your eyes.  In this moment, let your awareness move within.  Let go of all thoughts and begin to observe the inflow and outflow of your breath, inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply.  Now, gently introduce the mantra.  Om Varunam Namah which means my actions are in alignment with cosmic law.  Om Varunam Namah.  Om Varunam Namah.  Whenever thoughts enter your mind, you get distracted by something in your environment, or you have sensations in your body, gently go back to silently repeating the mantra.  Om Varunam Namah.  Please continue meditating for about 10 minutes.  Then release the mantra.  Please bring your awareness back into your body.  Take a moment to rest.  When you feel ready, gently open your eyes.

During your day, think about a specific desire you have in mind and invite divine inspiration to inform your actions as you contemplate our centering thought… I am inspired, I am unstoppable.  I am inspired, I am unstoppable.  I am inspired, I am unstoppable.

MINDFUL MOMENT
Gift yourself by dedicating time today to check your “heart center pulse.” Pause several times over the course of the day, place your hand on your heart and breathe. Close your eyes and spend time noticing your natural breath. Feel the easy flow of breath coming in and going out. Stop to feel your heart, allowing your senses to feel the rhythm of your physical heart and the pulse of your intuitive feeling heart. Just feel, connecting with your center, just be.

We are inspired by our time together and look forward to connecting in the stillness today. Blessings,

“Respond to every call that excites your spirit”
—Rumi

Over the past several days, we have defined what we want in life, responded to our heart’s deepest dreams and desires, and opened to the many opportunities that arise in the present moment. Today, we will learn more about developing clear intentions for our lives.  We believe that attention energizes and intention transforms. We are the masters of our own lives, our realities, and the universe offers us what we ask of it. Therefore, as we place our attention on what it is that we want, we set our intentions to orchestrate everything in our lives to help us achieve our goals. As we become receptive in this way, the universe conspires to support our every step.

CENTERING THOUGHT
I create my reality.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Aham Brahmasmi
I am the universe. I am absolute existence.

Day11- Desire&Destiny

Oprah:

Welcome to day 11, Intentional Me.  Finding our true purpose, or as Deepak calls it, our dharma, it begins with setting an intention for our life journey.  As Deepak often says, attention energizes, intention transforms.  The idea of intention changed my life when I read Gary Zukav’s book in 1989, “Seat of the Soul”.  In it, he says, every action, thought and feeling is motivated by an intention and that intention is a cause that exists as one with an effect.  Your intention is creating your reality.  I just love that.  When we stay present with strength and trust in ourselves and make each choice with intention, we stay aligned with our true power.  When we set our intention to connect with infinite possibility, we open the door to our supreme destiny.  When we plant the seed of intention, we only need to trust and know that when clear and connected to our true purpose, you can surrender all of your fear, all of your anxiety, and settle into the expansive abundance and grace of the universe.  Each experience then contains within it, a sense of awe, of wonder and potential, and knowledge that there is a reason and a divine design to your life.  Simply said, if you can dream it with intention you can do it.  Here we go.  Enjoy a transformational experience with Deepak today.  Then we’ll meditate.’

Deepak:

”At times, our busy lives may seem to get in the way of our dreams.  We may begin to wonder if they will ever come true.  The fact is that our abundant universe holds absolutely nothing back.  It is only when we disconnect or deny our true power, pretending we are anything less than magnificent creators that we find the doorway to the abundance to life remains closed.  We can, however, set our intentions to open to our infinite potential and receive as much good, love, peace and joy as we believe we deserve – no more, no less.

Our path this week is to identify our deepest desires and learn how to reframe our view as we open to the process of realizing these dreams.  Today we will explore how deliberately increasing our attention on what we want accelerates the manifestation process.  The key to creating the life you want – and deserve – is to be fully aware and fully present in your daily life.  Know that every thought, every feeling, every belief and every action is creating your reality.  Stay awake and aware of your moment-to-moment choices and choose with intention.  Then take the time to dream, seeing and feeling yourself joyfully experience this new reality you have intended.

As we prepare for meditation, let’s consider our centering thought.  I create my reality.  I create my reality.  Let’s begin.

Find a comfortable position.  Take a deep breath in.  Hold it for just a moment and then let it go.  As you resume your natural breathing, settle into a place of peace, fully here in the present moment.  In your mind’s eye, see yourself lying under an ancient oak tree supported by the strength of the earth and cushioned by a soft patch of cool grass surrounded by colorful wild flowers.  It is a glorious day.  Your eyes are attracted to the sky as you drink in the billowing white clouds passing by beneath the sky’s blue canvas.  It spans as far as the eye can see.  You feel supported and safe as the sun sparkles in between the green oak leaves, showering you with a sense of the magical possibility before you.

Watching the clouds changing shape as they gently pass by, begin to consider the things you have identified that you truly want to experience in this life time.  Now, gently close your eyes and take a moment to notice which of those dreams you have the deepest longing for.  Hold that dream at the center of your attention, allowing all other thoughts to melt away.  Take time to picture this dream coming into clear vision.  See the details, noticing who is with you, what is around you, and what you feel like.  Imagine it in full color and dimension.  See yourself right in the middle of this vision, fulfilled.  As you open your eyes, see this vision carried by one of the beautiful clouds.  Watch as the cloud in this beautiful parade of dreams drifts away to the field of all possibilities, knowing that your vision will, in divine timing, become your reality.  With this blissful vision, a new understanding, gently introduce the manta, Aham Brahmasmi.  I am the universe.  I am absolute existence.  Repeat the mantra silently to yourself.  Aham Brahmasmi. Aham Brahmasmi.  Aham Brahmasmi.  Continue to meditate for about 10 minutes.  Then release the mantra.  Please bring your awareness back into your body.  Take a moment to rest, inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply. When you feel ready, gently open your eyes.

As you continue with your day, let your awareness travel to the blossoming dream within your heart.  Let the truth of our centering thought be with you today and all days.  I create my reality.  I create my reality.  I create my reality.

MINDFUL MOMENT
Before you enter your meditation, take a moment to set one intention for today. Perhaps you would like to share kindness during your travels, or maybe you would like to integrate peace or joy into your day. Take a moment to clearly identify this positive intention. As you close your eyes for meditation, let everything go. In this way, you plant your intentions in the womb of creation and allow the universe to orchestrate the details.

We look forward to our time together today. Blessings,

Five things that can happen during your meditation‏ {Deepak Chopra}

Often when we meditate, we find ourselves wondering about the experiences we’re having during the meditation period. At times, we judge ourselves and maybe even feel frustration as we notice our distracted mind and body. Many of us are certain we are far from enlightened because we are just not doing it “right.”

As you may have gleaned from our free online Meditation Resources Library, there are five things that generally happen in meditation:

  • You repeat the mantra.
  • You have thoughts, feelings, sensations, maybe even tears at times.
  • You have thoughts and repeat the mantra at the same time.
  • You slip into a place of stillness, the space that feels like a glorious breath between your thoughts.
  • You fall asleep.

If you are experiencing any or all of these occurrences,  your practice of meditation is perfectly normal. Know that each moment, exactly as it is, provides an opportunity to just “be” in the present. Let yourself ride the waves of your unique experience, relax into the now and gently go with the flow. Give yourself permission to respond with gratitude for the unique experience of being alive and trust that the benefits of meditation will unfold for you in myriad ways.

We encourage you to stay connected with us each day, learn from others and share your experience with our inspiring online community. You are an integral member of our meditation community and that we appreciate you inviting us into your life in such a meaningful way.

Blessings,
